About this ebook

Western Christianity is largely crippled by virtue of being too Western. The Bible, and the religion it represents, is Ancient Near Eastern, to be precise. It's downright alien to our culture. So we need books like this to explain that vast distance so that we can begin to reclaim what has been abandoned over the centuries and intervening cultural shifts. The Apostles already had their hands full bringing the redemption of Christ to their world, but our world is vastly more trouble than what they faced. In this volume we seek to reestablish what it means to be men and women of faith who address the world in His sacrificial compassion.

    Conclusion

    Introduction

Western Christianity is largely crippled by virtue of being too Western. The Bible, and the religion it represents, is Eastern. It is Ancient Near Eastern, to be precise. That is a very long ways from anything Western.

In fact, it’s downright alien. So we need books like this to explain that vast distance so that we can begin to reclaim what has been abandoned over the centuries and intervening cultural shifts. The Apostles already had their hands full bringing the redemption of Christ to their world, but our world is vastly more trouble than what they faced. Some of the truth they took for granted, some of their assumptions about reality and how God worked in this world will require some effort to recover.

It would require a substantial library to cover all the differences. Most of us simply don’t have the capacity to deal with it all at once. We have to reduce it down to bite-sized pieces. Here we will focus on some of the meaning of love. How sad it is that the English language has only one word to cover so very many different ideas! Rather than choke readers with another sappy, syrupy volume of senseless emotional chatter, let’s approach it from a perspective that doesn’t lean so heavily on that one abused word, when what we really mean is a conscious commitment to seek the welfare of our world.

That welfare is wrapped up in the glory of God. His glory is best reflected in living His revelation as taught by Jesus Christ. Rather than wade through yet another course of cerebral Western Christian religion, let’s take a different approach and correct a number of flaws along the way.

A critical aspect of this is restoring the biblical imagery of who we are as people following Christ. We have to reestablish what it means to be men and women of faith who address the world in His sacrificial compassion.

    01 – The Sensory Heart

According to the extensive work by Jan Walleczek, while head of the Bioelectromagnetics Laboratory at Stanford University and associates, the heart has its own signature resonance. It can be measured objectively in part as an electromagnetic field. The field can be measured up to some ten feet (3m)
