      Introduction

      Blame! 

      Where does it come from and why does it devastate the human psyche?

      This is a very short book with a very small price but don’t let the size of the book or the price fool you.

      It is what I call a think book.  You read it in one sitting and then you sit back and give it a good think.

      Wars have been started, relationships severed, and untold stress has been the result of blame.

      In the book, Chasing Shadows, it describes the difference between subjective physical and objective spiritual.

      In objective truth, blame cannot occur because objective truth never changes and hence, the results of objective truth never changes too. 

      In other words, you get what you pay for and objective truth leaves no room for blame.

      On the other hand, subjective truth is whatever you want it to be and when it turns out not to be what you wanted then blame occurs to justify its usage.

      Blame is the opposite of accountability.

      In today’s world, accountability is dying.

      We live in a world filled with victims – victims of their upbringing, themselves, the government, the economy, LIFE.

      But even as accountability dies amongst men; the condemnation by God for those that turn away will never die for God is absolute objective truth and will never die.

      The story that follows is heart renting and surreal; at the end I will define the accountability of all the characters.

      It is a simple story that is meant to get you to think.

      Yes, you too are accountable and you too practice the blame game.

      I wrote this short book in order to get you to understand yourself. 

      That you stand accountable before God and yourself for what you are and what you have become.

      Although your nature may be to blame; objective truth only offers choices and never any excuses.

      Many people are running from themselves…running away from their accountability.

      You can run but you cannot hide and as the tagline of this book teaches – fix the problem and not the blame.

      Fix you! And fix you before it is too late and the opportunity fades with age.

      Fix your relationships, fix your finances, and fix your life! How? 

      By giving you get; by dying to yourself, you live.  By denying yourself and living for others, you find yourself and begin the fix.  In other words, it is all about love and not about YOU!

      Chapter 1 – The Walls

      My graduation from Lutheran seminary was a blessed dream come true.  I had dreams of saving the world; a twenty-first century apostle ordained to preach to the masses. 

      But alas, God, in His infinite wisdom, had other plans for me, G. William Heinz III. 

      My first assignment was chaplain, West State Prison, also known as The Walls.

      On a cold and rainy day in December, I looked up with despair at the gray walls of shame and reported for my first day of evangelism. 

      My office was in the prison chapel located in a distant section of the main complex. 

      The brick structure looked foreboding; the paint was cracked and peeling.  The insides had a musty smell. 

      Dear God, I said softly to myself.  What are you doing to me now?

      My flock was not an eager bunch thirsting after the Word of God.  I soon learned that chapel call was easier than working on a chain gang. 

      I was never without a flock, but as I stared into their eyes, I saw no Truth. 

      I looked out from my pulpit on the first day and beheld all types, all creeds, and all races.  There were no smiles, no kind words, only angry blank eyes staring back at me. 

      I cleared my throat to speak but a big man in the back row spoke first, Hey preacher man, how old are you?

      With my hands in my pocket, I kicked at the carpet and replied, I’m 25-years old.
