      What Is A Tulpa?

      Unfortunately, there isn't one concrete answer to this, as many people have different beliefs. A tulpa is believed by most to be a separate consciousness (not an imaginary friend), existing within the same brain as yourself. A tulpa is sentient, meaning it's able to think and feel on its own without any control from you. A tulpa has its own opinions, feelings, preferences, personality, and form. A tulpa is able to speak and move on its own without any input from you. In a sense, they are very similar to a human, except for the fact that they share the same body with you.

      A tulpa is not a spirit or demon and only has as much control or power as you allow it to have.

      How Does This Work?

      There is no scientific evidence to prove how tulpas exist, in a similar way that lucid dreaming and astral projection are still largely unproven. However, there are many different beliefs as to how tulpas come into existence. For the sake of this book, I'm going to believe that creating a tulpa is the act of tricking your mind into believing something is real, when it isn't. Of course, as you make progress, your tulpa will become very real to you, and you will be able to perceive it with all five senses. In other words, many people (including myself) believe tulpa creation is seen as a capability of the brain and nothing more.

      Is Creating A Tulpa Dangerous?

      No, creating a tulpa is 100% safe. Creating a tulpa does not cause mental illnesses such as schizophrenia or dissociative identity disorder. It's also important to understand that tulpas are not negative in nature and will generally love and accept you and your decisions. Tulpas cannot harm you physically and will not hurt you emotionally, nor will they encourage you to partake in acts that will harm you.

      What Are The Benefits Of Having A Tulpa?

      Tulpas give you the full benefits of unconditional companionship, along with other abilities such as having direct access to your subconscious and memories. This means they're able to help you make decisions, or recall information you have forgotten. This makes problem solving or test taking a lot easier! The benefits of having a tulpa are numerous, and are discussed more in a later section.

      The relationship between a tulpa and its host (you) is a truly special one, unlike any other relationship you've ever had before.
