The Greatest Fraud the World Has Ever Known
()
About this ebook
The Greatest Fraud the World Has Ever Known is all about self deception. When most people think of fraud, they think of investing fraud, white collar crime, and maybe financial planning fraud and to define self deception is to simply state that it is any form of deceit against a person by the same person. But self deception goes to the heart of leadership - leadership and self deception - and how it affects the way we live our lives. The author believes that some people are just plain evil and then backs up this premise with sound research. He then goes on to describe the fraud of fraud or the causes of self-deception. Most people practice self deception due to fallacious reasoning. The author calls this “self deception theory” and stems from self deception psychology or the psychology of lying and deception. It doesn’t take the reader very long to discover that the Greatest Fraud the World Has Ever Know is YOU!

The Greatest Fraud the World Has Ever Known - Dr. Leland Benton
Introduction
In today’s world, fraud is running rampant. But in actuality, fraud is not new concept. From the beginning of time man has used deception from everything such as war to love.
In the animal kingdom, animals use deception for protection by the use of camouflage and more.
The high technology of our times makes access to all forms of information almost instantaneous and the news media sensationalizes fraud to a point of frenzy.
Fraud is defined as intentional deception made for personal gain or to damage another individual.
In recent years, top fraudsters such as Bernie Madoff, Ken Lay and Jeff Skilling of Enron, Allen Stanford, Bernie Ebbers of Worldcom, Dennis Kozlowski of Tyco International, Martin Frankel, James Lewis, Lou Pearlman of N’Sync fame, Barry Minkow of ZZZZ Best, and Tom Petters have been brought to justice and given lengthy prison terms.
No one seemingly escapes fraud; everyone on the planet has been deceived in some manner.
As Chief Forensics Investigator for ForensicsNation.com, I compile and preserve evidence of cyber-crime fraud all the time.
Cyber crime is rampant too and growing; you would not believe how exposed the average citizen is today.
Society has come to rely on computers, cell phones, and computer-run public systems such as traffic lights, food distribution, water supply and much more in such a way that any disruption of these services jeopardizes our quality of life.
People make use of Wi-Fi systems inside their homes, in public places such as libraries and Starbucks, which make them huge targets for hackers and crackers.
As a behavioral scientist, I have studied the criminal mind and have made many conclusions.
Recently we busted a voyeur using a wireless camera to spy on a Hooters waitress while she was undressing in her apartment. We caught him a couple of blocks away in his car with a handheld viewing device.
When I played back what he had seen for the waitress, her comment was, Why? He could see more on the Internet.
And yes, it is true, you can Google just about any body part you want and see more on the Internet but the waitress missed the one important factor that causes crime - the thrill of getting away with something that is forbidden!
When a person thinks of fraud, rarely do they ever think along the lines of defrauding themselves but yet this is the most common occurrences of fraud.
Self deception runs rampant in our respective psyches; the ability to deceive ourselves cannot be minimized.
This book addresses this self deception and our inherent need to defraud ourselves.
We defraud ourselves in many ways; too many to list here but here is a partial list: the way we eat, how much we eat, our diets in general, our looks, our need to be loved, sex, our need to achieve, our beliefs, and more.
The total essences of our lives are completely affected by self deception; most of our personal existences cannot be lived without the deceptions we have created.
Let me give you an example: A person buys an automobile that they really cannot afford because it provides a status symbol of success. In many people’s minds, a high-priced automobile means
