Introduction
Technology has changed how we communicate. Commonly used conventions for cell phone text messaging, Internet chat rooms, newsgroups or communication between on-line gamers have found their way into our every day lives. Even college professors are seeing these new conventions used in classroom writing assignments, reports and papers.
Text messaging is here to stay. We need to understand it, accommodate it, and learn to use it.
This book presents a snapshot of common slang terms used for on-line communications. It is by no means an exhaustive list. The on-line communication environment is evolving with new terms and phrases being coined every day. Over time, terms and meanings may change and some will cease to be used.
Hopefully, this book will serve as an introduction to on-line communications and help you to understand what others are saying. GLHF
