Fun Begins
Growing up in the 1970's, we always seemed to be looking for the best party anywhere. They might be at homes of friends whose parents were out of town, or just in a field where kids, kegs, and motorcycles could go. After High School, we got our own rental homes located in the Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia areas. They became party houses, and we overwhelmed the neighborhoods with partygoers, loud music, and motorcycles parked up and down the street.
One party we instigated overran the entire Potomac, Maryland area. It was on NBC News, in The Washington Post, local papers, and recently featured in a documentary about what happened. Wherever we could have loud music, loud bikes, lots of friends, and a sense of freedom, we just knew that fun could break out at any minute! There was always something new and exciting going on.
Having our own place meant we could party and jam with other musicians. With my old saxophone from grade school, a guitar, and a few friends, we played at a few parties, bike runs and bar gigs. Calling ourselves, The Blue Rockers,
we were just trying to get closer to the fun. For the next 40 years I traveled around the world in search of a great party, gig, or motorcycle enthusiast event. www.motorcycleentertain.com
Recently, I became Executive Director of Motorcycle Charity Associates, which held eight, themed, motorcycle enthusiast charity events at the World Famous Playboy Mansion in Beverly Hills, CA. On the morning of those events, we hosted motorcycle rides for guests, from downtown Hollywood to Malibu, for brunch. www.motorcyclecharity.org
Now, so it seems, all roads lead back to Sturgis and once again to the Buffalo Chip Campground, for the 75th Anniversary of the Sturgis Rally. Estimates foresee a million visitors to the area. This could be The Party of the Century! At the Buffalo Chip Campground, their slogan is simply, The Best Party Anywhere!

In search of the proverbial best party, or gig, led me up and down the East Coast, across the United States, then around the World. In the mid 1980's, I found a home in sunny Southern California. The bikers there could ride all year round in beautiful weather and without helmets. Like an Endless Summer for bikers, motorcycle-friendly bars had live music 7 nights a week. We found more parties and special events, too. All this promoted motorcycles, and fun activities surrounding them. Growing up Back East, we used to read about California in Rip's Ride, a column in Easyriders Magazine. It seemed I'd found motorcycle enthusiast fun on a regular basis and settled into Orange, California. Our band could eke out a humble living with a little help from our friends, along with a few handyman jobs. We still didn't have our own place, staying with friends, girlfriends, or in our vans.
One Sunday afternoon, while playing at the Orange Circle Saloon, a biker named Crow
stopped by. He said he liked our party music. In those days, many bands shied away from biker gigs. They played a lot
