Chapter 1
Once a magnificent and peaceful kingdom, the Land of Darling was now in a struggle to survive. Ever since the king and queen were kidnapped (or king-and queen-napped) by the Nanny Nanny Boo Boos, life as the people had known it had vanished. If not for their hope in the young princess, Mariasha, all would have been lost. You may be wondering why the Nanny Nanny Boo Boos hadn’t kidnapped the princess, too. (Aren’t you smart?) Well, here’s the short version of the story.
During the attack, when the N-N-B-Bs slipped into the castle, Mariasha’s wise lady-in-waiting hid the little princess in a closet, right behind the Giant Royal Toilet Plunger. Of course, since the very religious N-N-B-B monks worshipped the Toilet Plunger, the lady-in-waiting knew that no common N-N-B-B soldier would ever dare to move a plunger just to look behind it. A plunge to the death for those unworthy to remove the Plunge,
was a common saying in the N-N-B-B community. Yes, that was all there was between the survival and defeat of a kingdom: a rubbery suction cup attached to a long stick. Following the king and queen-napping, the N-N-B-Bs sent a letter to the people of Darling demanding their surrender.
The note read, Unless the people surrender, we will tickle the king and queen until they can’t stand it anymore.
This greatly upset the people because they feared for their beloved leaders, knowing that the king and queen were very brave (but also very ticklish). Still, they also knew that the royal couple would never want the people of Darling to surrender.
They sent a single word back in response: NEVER!
The King’s Royal Counselors met and decided to fight the N-N-B-Bs, for they knew what their fearless king’s wishes would be. (They weren’t so sure about the queen’s wishes—she had this one spot, just under her right armpit…) Anyway, despite this heartache, there was still a glimmer of hope in the royal subjects’ hearts: the young princess, Mariasha.
And so, the fighting continued until Mariasha became a little girl.
Chapter 2
On Mariasha’s tenth birthday, after years of warfare with the N-N-B-Bs, all of the kingdom’s greatest knights came to her and spoke.
"Princess Mariasha, our people are weary from this terrible war. The Nanny Nanny Boo Boos have become too strong for us, and we fear our people are giving up.
