"A surprisingly funny, witty, and good read."

"The mix of the African Savannah and the paranormal in the 1890s, not to mention the British twist... I found this book truly entertaining. It kept my interest from cover to cover. I even caught myself laughing out loud at certain points."

"I was very surprised when at 4 AM I couldn't stop reading! I really enjoyed Mrs. Knight and the way she reacts in the situations she faces."

"Bee, the main character is hilarious. Her wit, her dry humor, her observations are not only refreshing but addictive. Vered Ehsani's writing is just excellent."

Africa, supernatural, lore, fantasy, steampunk, cozy-mystery, humor Weirdly good. Set in time around the turn of the 20th century, yet filled with fantastic creatures and more. The characters are great fun and the lore of the continent of Africa is fascinating. There's plenty of subtle and overt humor, and the situational humor is guaranteed to have any reader snorting their caffeine. The publisher's blurb gives hints and there is no need for spoilers, just enjoy the unraveling of the mystery. Alison Larkin is an interesting narrator.

Well if you wanted different you will find it here. Beatrice is a widow in the Queen Victoria era. She is also a paranormal investigator. She is haunted by her dead husband and lives with her Uncle and Aunt. This story is based on Beatrice’s journal writings that her husband talked her into writing. When her uncle goes bankrupt they have to move to Africa where she is to investigate the ghosts of Tsavo or two man eating lion ghosts. At the end the mystery is somewhat solved but many questions are left unanswered.
