CHAPTER I:
THE WOMEN IN MEDIEVAL TIMES
––––––––
Oh those marvelous times I spent during my staying in Warwickshire. I could easily see myself there, living in that castle for the rest of my days, which could be longer than I expected since I wouldn´t have to risk my life any more than I had already spent. But I knew deep inside that something was wrong. It was way too right for me, it was like that expression, Too good to be true!
And I believe that my life was no piece of cake, even if I had drank tea with the King and the Queen. So I was heading back home, though the place I felt it was my home was just a dream long gone.
Just before I got home, I started to feel a tingling sensation in my brain, as if it was pounding inside my head such awkward feeling. Responsibilities soon found me on the road, as I was not sure if I was doing the right thing or not. I then knew that I could no longer move within my freedom, without thinking about the emerging problems. I had to take care of what I had left before I went to live in Warwick.
I left Edward Beauchamp, Warwick and its royalties, their lands, beautiful countryside, and some of my dreams behind me. And he knew it, from the moment I got up and jumped in my horse and started to ride and left.
Some centuries later, Beauchamp, or rather one of his descendants, it was Richard Beauchamp, Earl of Warwick, who met a very brave woman, and the one who went fighting for a great and noble ideal, for the freedom of her people and her country. Her name: Joanne D'Arc.
Joan_of_arc_miniature_graded.jpgShe was the very embodiment of Diana. But it was that instead of bow and arrow, she wore now a sword.
I already knew that the Beauchamps family had a weakness for strong women, like the Amazons. But neither was I considering that such entrancement would last so long, and allure them and lure them out of which would be followed by many generations.
Joan_of_Arc_on_horseback (1).pngA woman from the medieval time was treated as a symbol of sin, one that deviated men from the righteous path to a perverse way, who gave the apple to Adam, and distorted, twisted his way, throwing both of them away from Paradise. These were difficult times for everyone. But that was true especially for women. Never in the history of mankind women was so overwhelmed and unwelcomed in society.
Not in the Age of Antiquity, where there was still civilization, women were so abused or massacred. Rather, the primitive people considered them sublime, true goddesses, capable of generating new lives, living examples of the power of creation, the female; with the power of God, they also have the divine right to give life to new forms.
In fact, in some very ancient civilizations, they were idolized, represented as symbols of luck and fertility to the land. They were considered true icons of nature, where what mattered most was the relationship of man with the earth because of them that came all the goods, and from them it was up to them to create all beings in the Universe.
But one day the man would show his strength, and thought it best to use the power of the sweetest, master it and enslave it. Hence, then, we started to give more value to the power of destruction, than the power of Creation. And since that moment, nature is suffering with unhealthy blows that mankind has exerted on it. And we are all sick, nature and man, for lack of care and understanding.
All that the woman represented in primitive peoples, who once was praised, it was considered a sign of weakness and submission, in the middle Ages. God forgive such ignorance. For the gentle and meek of heart is the strongest and bravest. And it took me a lifetime as an Amazon for finally get it, so that I would understand that it was not by the power of forceful thinking, by physical force or coercion that I could go somewhere. But it was by the divine love that nurtures the soul and makes all things balanced.
There was no way a woman would stand out in the
