About this ebook
"Cupp writes with an insider's knowledge of the human condition. [When Lies Crumble] is a breathtaking look behind the mask we all wear." – Brandt Dodson, Author of The Sons of Jude
Chicago PI Carter Mays is thrust into a house of lies when local rich girl Cindy Bedford hires him. Turns out her fiancé failed to show up on their wedding day, the same day millions of dollars are stolen from her father's company. While Carter takes the case, Cindy's father tries to find him his own way. With nasty secrets, hidden finances, and a trail of revenge, it’s soon apparent no one is who they say they are. Carter searches for the truth, but the situation grows more volatile as panic collides with vulnerability. Broken relationships and blurred loyalties turn deadly, fueled by past offenses and present vendettas in a quest to reveal the truth behind the lies before no one, including Carter, gets out alive. Reviews for When Lies Crumble
15 ratings2 reviews
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5This author needs a grammar lesson desperately. "Lied down"????? Cliches abound
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5This is a truly terrible book, and I'm offended that Scribd selected a book of such poor quality for its monthly selection. Mr. Cupp doesn't understand how the English language works. He has a great deal of trouble with verbs and he often selects the wrong word. I kept going because I hoped the plot would be worth it, but at the end of the book the plot became completely implausible (example: a man who has been shot in the hip both stands and walks). The overall plot was complex and Mr. Cupp did a fairly good job of keeping all the balls in the air until the very end. If he continues writing, he should hire a professional copyeditor to help him with his writing challenges. And Scribd: Do better! Select books that aren't full of grammar and word selection errors!
