    Dr. Richard Sparks created Lionheart Ministries in Athens, Al. in 1997 to break down the walls of traditions in the church today. He has served as the pastor of Southwind Christian Center from 1997 till 2012 and Lionheart Christian Church from 2012 till present. He serves as President of Lionheart Ministries and Lionheart Christian Academy. Richard has been a Project Engineering Manager in the Nuclear Power Industry for over 30 years. Richard has taught in both the industrial settings and at the college level. Richard has degrees in Mechanical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering and Human Factors Engineering. He is a Navy Veteran. Richard has been married to Sheila Sparks since 1979. Sheila is the founder of Lionheart Christian Academy. The Sparks have one daughter Telitha and one granddaughter Ella.

      Prologue

      Devils – Know Your Enemy

      For many years you have been in the midst of spiritual battle and maybe did not know who the enemy was or how his powers worked against you. This books identifies the enemy, shows you how he operates and how he can be defeated in the name of Jesus.

      It is my prayer that this book will open your mind to your enemy the devil. We must know how to discern who is true and who is false for us to make it in these last days.

      Chapter 1 Satan

      Revelation 2

      12 And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write; These things saith he which hath the sharp sword with two edges;

      13 I know thy works, and where thou dwellest, even where Satan's seat is: and thou holdest fast my name, and hast not denied my faith, even in those days wherein Antipas was my faithful martyr, who was slain among you, where Satan dwelleth.

      14 But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication.

      15 So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate.

      16 Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.

      17 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.

      Doctrine of Balaam – refers to a false prophet who sold his services and led the people into compromise. Compromise lead to an attitude of tolerance toward sin. Jesus would fight against them with the sword of his mouth which is his word.

      Verse 13 seems a little strange, for it mentions that Satan had his throne in the city of Pergamum in Asia Minor. We are accustomed to thinking about Satan as traveling everywhere in the world.
