About this ebook
Now happily wedded and bedded by Sir Guy of Gisborne, it is easy for Lady Marian to forget that England teeters on the brink of collapse. But war and rebellion threaten the fragile stability of the kingdom. Worse, as Prince John’s vassal, Sir Guy is called to lead the Nottinghamshire muster.
War takes Sir Guy from his beloved Marian and into a hell he’d thought he’d never again experience. As the shadows of Sir Guy’s dark past deepen, an old enemy returns to ensure Sir Guy never comes home. It will take every ounce of Sir Guy’s skill, cunning and treachery to survive and return to his beloved Marian.
At My Lady's Pleasure is Book 2 in the Gisbornes of Nottingham trilogy, and is a sexy spin on the legend of Robin Hood. It’s irreverent and intended for adult audiences.

Author’s Note
The Gisbornes of Nottingham series began life as fanfiction, inspired by the BBC television series Robin Hood.* Although the Robin in this series was suitably swaggering and heroic, inexplicably I was drawn to his enemy, Sir Guy of Gisborne, a role inhabited by the actor Richard Armitage. Though the legend of Robin Hood and Maid Marian is canon, the chemistry between Armitage and Lucy Griffiths, the actress playing Maid Marian, was off the charts. I began rooting for the wrong
couple. From there it was only natural that I would retell the story to suit my own taste.
It is not necessary to have watched Robin Hood to enjoy The Gisbornes of Nottingham, however.** One need only have a basic understanding of the folktale of Robin Hood, and be willing to wonder what would happen if feisty Maid Marian needed to tame the brooding Sir Guy of Gisborne…
*And, uh, maybe a couple other fandoms.
**The Shire of Darkshire was wholly made up by Elizabeth Gaskell; I use it here with impunity.
CHAPTER ONE
Marian held the strawberry between her lips. Then she brought her mouth down toward her husband’s. With a sensuous gleam in his eye, an expression she’d come to know and to love, he bit into the fruit she held before him, and they shared a sweetened kiss.
It was some time before the two of them thought of fruit again, but afterward, when Marian lay sated against Guy’s chest, she said, I must try that with plums.
Laughter rumbled under her cheek. You really do know how to do indecent things with fruit, my love.
Thanks to your wicked teachings, husband.
Sir Guy’s northern lilt was in full evidence. Ah, no. Don’t blame me for your active imagination. Jesu, I never thought I’d wed such an insatiable woman. You had the whole Shire convinced of your virtue, while they called me the Devil’s hell-hound.
He gave her a lazy kiss. If only they knew the truth…wanton woman.
Marian felt herself coloring, but she wasn’t really ashamed. She loved her husband, and, secure in his love for her, enjoyed every second spent rendering her wifely duties to the fullest, even if it meant having to listen to his complaints about exhaustion and bite marks on tender places.
She felt drowsy lying next to him in their chamber. It was past Sext None, and warm spring light flooded the room. There were a thousand things they both should be doing around the estate at that moment: she should be culling the last of the stored herbs that had lost their virtue over the winter; Sir Guy had intended to oversee the sheep-washing before they were sheared.
And yet here they were, in bed.
Shameless,
he murmured lazily, playing with her hair. If we have no fleeces to sell because Loxley folk have been careless getting the redle off the sheep, I’m blaming you.
