About this ebook

The Lieutenant ducked the lance and threw his bowie knife killing the brave. The lead Indians gesticulated and shouted loudly amongst themselves not knowing Duncan spoke the Sioux language. They outnumbered the 100 cavalry troopers with their 500 braves stationed 300 yards away on the hill tops; in range for the cavalry's sharpshooters but out of range for the Indian's collection of old weaponry. The old chief who had routed Major Reno at the Little Big Horn, Montana, on the 25th June 1876 also noted the Army's 4 Gatling guns and that the 12 pounder field gun was aimed directly at him.

He ignored the shouts of revenge from the group behind him and advanced his horse 3 paces.

"What do you want?" he challenged the young Lieutenant.

Jed Duncan's odyssey of revenge had started when he was 16. Both parents had been brutally murdered on their ranch in front of their two daughters who were then abducted by this marauding band of Sioux Indians. Finally, with the help of his longtime friend Mary and her spirit world guide Jonathon, a magnificent Golden Eagle, they tracked the girls down to a Hunkpapa Indian settlement close to the Canadian border.

Jed's career in the army had flourished. He escaped death twice - the difference in time between the first and second squeeze of a trigger. He was awarded the Medal of Honour by Ulysses S. Grant the American President. He captured the notorious Panhandle Gang; the first time when they robbed a train and the second time when the remainder of the gang in Texas ambushed him. He shot his way out and captured them and used the reward money to bid successfully for their confiscated property and ranches. He discovered gold in the Rosebud River when acting as a dispatch rider between General Terry and Custer. But he never gave up searching for his sisters! Jonathon found them! He was with them when Jed confronted Chief Gall.
