The Inevitable Twist: Comments on Lamoureux’s Question
By Razie Mah

About this ebook
This short piece takes a look at the implications of one voice in the present discourse on the historical Adam. Denis Lamoureux is a bright and totally well meaning. For this reason alone, a light-hearted response is appropriate. Surely, given all that we know about human evolution, a revision of the traditional doctrine of Original Sin may be inevitable. The problem is, given all that we do not know, then we may be in for a surprise.
Here, the surprise comes in the form of a twist. The ideas of Julian Jaynes are used to set the stage for appreciating the dilemma within Lamoureux’s paradigm shift.

.
The bicameral brain works like this: The brain is divided. However, one side of the brain can speak to the other. The communication takes the form of a proclamation. Today, this is typical of the mental illness schizophrenia.
As it turns out, bicameral brain announcements may have produced selective advantage in the Lebenswelt that we evolved in. The reason is
