About this ebook

At the time this book was first written and published, I was not aware of the revolutionary new space flight propulsion development called “The Pares Space Warp Drive Motor,” and I wrote this book about employing Time Dilation by approaching light speed as the method of achieving interstellar space flight.

This Expanded New Edition also contains detailed material about the new Pares Space Warp Drive Motor method of propulsion. It employs an electrical energy produced space warp, so no propellant is required, and appreciable acceleration and deceleration times are also not required. The concept of warping space for propulsion, was published by theoretical physicist Miguel Alcubierre in 1994, and is generally accepted.

Professor David Pares investigated and studied in depth electromagnetic phenomena in thunderstorms, with special attention to producing aircraft linear displacements, and after intensive study and experiment he developed a practical method of warping space, and constructed a small-scale working model. The model performed reliably, with all results as predicted by theoretical expectations.

With this new Pares Space Warp Drive Motor propulsion method space and the object within it relocates. This is not actual object movement, and so it is not limited by  Relativity. Unlike as with Relativity there is no theoretical limit to the apparent velocity with which the space warp can relocate an object. Then in theory even very distant stars are accessible, and the Earth type worlds very probably orbiting some of them become available for colonization.

Due to the Pares Space Warp Drive Motor’s great promise for interstellar space flight, Interstellar Space Flight Is Not So Difficult includes detailed information regarding this extremely promising new development. This Expanded New Edition tells how inventor Professor David Pares came to invent and construct The Pares Space Warp Drive Motor, it presents the  space warp drive’s theory, operation and how it is constructed, where the project is now, and what it may well mean for the future of humanity.

This book presents The Pares Space Warp Drive Motor as an extremely promising new method of space flight propulsion, which in theory will make achievable interstellar space flight and the colonization of  Earth type new worlds. I write this only because I believe it, without any financial interest involved. .

Regardless of the method employed for interstellar space flight, my presentation remains entirely valid concerning the widely held self-fulfilling prophecy belief that interstellar space flight is simply not possible. I have no doubt at all that this simple belief, long held by simpletons, will in the near future be proven entirely false.

    Author’s Preface

At the time this book was first written and published, I was not aware of the revolutionary new space flight propulsion development called The Pares Space Warp Drive Motor, and I wrote this book about Time Dilation by approaching light speed as the method of achieving interstellar space flight. The concept of Time Dilation by approaching light speed was discovered by Dr. Albert Einstein (deceased), it is fundamental to modern physics, and it has been experimentally confirmed (for subatomic particles). However this method requires a fission atomic reactor (of the type that generates high pressure steam to propel atomic submarines), and large amounts of water propellant in order to accelerate to and decelerate from near light speed. It also requires appreciable time, at least three months each way, for acceleration and deceleration limited by the requirement of sustaining human life over time. Previously I had believed these difficulties were unavoidable, but the new Pares Space Warp Drive Motor completely eliminates them.

The new Pares Space Warp Drive Motor method of propulsion employs an electrical energy produced space warp, so no propellant is required, and appreciable acceleration and deceleration times are also not required. The concept that space could be warped as a method of propulsion, was first published by theoretical physicist Miguel Alcubierre in 1994, and the concept has evidently been generally accepted as valid by the physics scientific community.

Professor David Pares investigated and studied in depth electromagnetic phenomena in thunderstorms, with special attention to their producing aircraft linear displacements, and after years of intensive study and experiment he developed a practical method of warping space, and constructed a small-scale working model in his garage. The model performed reliably, with all results as predicted by theoretical expectations. The model’s every test was entirely successful.

With this new Pares Space Warp Drive Motor propulsion method the net result is that space and the object within it relocates. This relocation of space is not actual object movement, and so it is not limited by the physics of Relativity. Unlike as with Relativity there is no theoretical limit to the apparent velocity with which the space warp can relocate an object. Then in theory even very distant stars are accessible, and the Earth type worlds very probably orbiting some of them become available for colonization.

Due to the Pares Space Warp Drive Motor’s great promise for interstellar space flight, I have rewritten Interstellar Space Flight Is Not So Difficult to include detailed information regarding this extremely promising new development. This Expanded New Edition tells how inventor Professor David Pares came to invent and construct The Pares Space Warp Drive Motor, it presents the theory of the space warp drive’s operation and how it is constructed, where The Pares Space Warp Drive Motor project is now, and what it may well mean for the future of humanity.

It happens that Professor Pares and I both live in Omaha, Nebraska USA, and this has facilitated our communications. Professor Pares is an extremely intelligent, highly learned and very ethical man. If you are not a theoretical physicist his work may be difficult to understand, but assuming it fulfills its great promise, which I have every reason to believe it will, then it is perhaps the greatest discovery made since fire, because it makes possible the colonization of new, Earth type worlds in unlimited numbers. Yes, I said unlimited numbers. For a start there are an estimated 500 billion suns in our galaxy, termed the Milky Way, and no doubt some of them in addition to our sun are orbited by Earth type worlds. If only one in a thousand suns has an Earth type world in orbit, then in our Milky Way Galaxy of 500 billion suns there are 500 million habitable Earth type new worlds.

Try to estimate the value of just one new Earth type world, with all its natural resources untouched. Then multiply that number by 500 million. That is the estimated value of The Pares Space Warp Drive Motor  in our galaxy alone. And, there are estimated to be trillions of galaxies in the universe.

The method of interstellar flight employing Time Dilation is in theory very inferior to the Space Warp method, because it requires propellant and acceleration and deceleration times, but since this book was originally written based on the Time Dilation method, I have included the material on it essentially unchanged.

This book presents The Pares Space Warp Drive Motor as an extremely promising new method of space flight propulsion, which in theory will make achievable interstellar space flight and the colonization of  Earth type new worlds. I write this only because I believe it, without any financial interest involved. I have not received any payment of any kind from anyone for writing this book, I am not a member of the David Pares Research Team, and I have no financial holding whatsoever relating in any way to The Pares Space Warp Drive Motor.

Introduction To Space Flight Is Not So Difficult

This pioneering new book by professional scientist Phillip Duke B.S., Ph.D. explains why Interstellar space flight is really not so difficult as commonly believed, and describes the construction, launch, operation and functioning of a working Interstellar Starship. The starship’s function is transporting colonists to a new Earth type world, and detailed evidence is presented that this is possible in both theory and practice now, not just in the future. The book’s thesis is that traveling across Interstellar space and colonizing a new Earth is in theory much easier than commonly known, and in practice would be much easier than generally believed. The book’s title "Interstellar Space Flight Is Not So Difficult" says it all.

Interstellar space flight and colonizing other Earth type worlds introduces the possibility of encountering alien life forms, and a number of possible alien life forms and encounters with them are described. Based on the principles of Adaptive and Convergent Evolution, life forms should on theory be somewhat on all Earth type worlds, and what life forms exist will depend primarily on the stage of Evolution, which in turn depends primarily on the world’s age. Important differences may however exist in some cases, and just what may be encountered cannot be accurately predicted at this time. Persons interested in this subject are referred to my ebook Life On Other Worlds.

Interstellar space flight is possible and practical due primarily to the great advances in physics brought about by one man, the scientific genius Albert Einstein. Professor Einstein’s great achievement in theoretical physics called Relativity Theory gave us atomic energy, but only in theory; the urgency of World War Two was required for it to be put into practice, as atomic bombs. Very few people know that Einstein’s great achievement also gives us star travel, but so far only in theory. Star travel has not yet been put into practice simply because there has not been any urgency to do so, and also due to the commonly held false belief, that the long times required to travel the large distances make star travel so impractical, that it is essentially impossible.

The only known obstacle to traveling from our solar system to another is the time required to travel the large distance. However according to Relativity the time required can be reduced to where it is no problem at all. Einstein’s Relativity has inherent in it the (experimentally confirmed) principle of Time Contraction; as an object approaches light speed time contracts or slows down for it. By simply approaching light speed the interstellar transit travel time for the starship and its inhabitants can in theory by Time Contraction be made as small as desired. I repeat the interstellar transit travel time can in theory be made as small as desired.

To approach light speed at acceleration compatible with human life, constant energy/thrust over several month’s time is required, and this sustained acceleration is not possible with chemically fueled spacecraft, because chemical reactions do not provide enough energy. Atomic reactions release approximately one million times more energy than chemical reactions, and the starship is propelled through interstellar space with energy released by atomic, not chemical reactions.
