    How do we gain weight?

    When we swallow a bite of food, our body works continuously to process the intake. Our intake of food immediately becomes the building block and fuel needed by the body. Our body gets its energy from food and the cycle for which the body processes food for fuel and nutrients is part of the metabolism process.

    Metabolism:

    Metabolism is actually a chain of small chemical reactions that takes place in the human body. It transforms our food into the fuel needed for us to survive and to accomplish our day to day tasks and activities from moving to thinking to growing.

    Proteins in the body maintain the chemical reactions in the body, which controls our metabolism.

    The body regulates the all of our natural functions and our Metabolism keeps cells active inside our bodies, which regulates our overall body weight (BMI), and can be a contributor to health risks like diabetes if you don't watch what you eat and drink and remain active.

    The food that we ingest, is broken down into enzymes which further break down into:

      Proteins into amino acids,

      Fats into fatty acids, and

      Carbohydrates into simple sugars

    Along with sugar, amino acids and fatty acids can be used as energy sources by the body when needed as well as our blood is enriched with these chemical compounds.

    These chemically enriched enzymes in our blood accelerate the chemical reactions inculcated with metabolic inclusion of these compounds when we consume food.

    How does human body burn calories?

    Food is our basic building block. This process is done by metabolism. While the rest of our organs need energy for functions, such as
