Introduction:

You have probably read the books, seen the movies, and even bought merchandise of our young favorite wizard from Hogwarts (alright, I know it’s the school of witchcraft and wizardry and not a place that can be found on a map), but have you considered learning how to draw Harry Potter in pencil or in any art mediums? This eBook is all about learning to draw Harry Potter, so before we begin, let me congratulate you for picking up this eBook! I’m going to teach you how to draw Harry from a cartoon to other forms of art work; pencils, charcoal, pastels, watercolor, and even airbrush. Yes, you read right.

So what do you need to learn these artworks? I listed the things you need in the materials section, and they can all be found in any art stores or art suppliers. Visit them and check for the availability of the materials. It is also nice to make friends with your art supplier, as they would be happy to assist you in finding the things that you need, and may even give you a call if the materials are in stock or available.

Dedicate by reading and practicing all the exercises in each section of art mediums. Set a good time for you to work alone and focus on drawing and soon you will be a true versatile artist, not just drawing Harry Potter. You can use this method when drawing other people’s faces, and even the faces of your love ones, parents, relatives, friends, and neighbors. So have fun drawing Harry Potter and let him inspire you magically.

Materials:

Pencil with Sharpener/ Mechanical Pencil with Leads /Lead Holder Pencil with Sharpener and Leads

HB Pencil with Sharpener (A.), Mechanical Pencil for thin outlines (B.), Lead Holder Pencil (C.). For thin and thick lines, just like an ordinary pencil, you can use a mechanical pencil. The only difference is the ease when the lead becomes dull, because you just push the end button to sharpen the point and you’re good to go. You can also use it with a longer lead (just push the end button many times).

Various grades of pencils that you may consider for adding tones to your drawing are: 4H, 2H, F, HB, 2B and 6B. If you’re short of supplies, you can use just an HB only, but make sure to apply pressure when you want a darker tone and lighter pressure for light tone.

Charcoal

A. Charcoal pencils – These come in different ranges such as Hard, Medium, and Soft, and they are good for giving details in any charcoal work.

B. Vine Charcoal - These also come in different ranges and also different sizes. You can apply it directly or shave it with your cutter and use the accumulated dust on your working paper.

C. Compress Charcoals – They are the same as other charcoal, but with different ranges and shapes. They are available in bar or cylindrical shape, and they have a darker tone, and can easily adhere to any drawing paper.

D. Powder Charcoal -These come in cans or plastic bottles, and are very fine. They are useful for any charcoal work, especially for toning, and can also be used for transferring your drawing or outlines to working paper.

Fine Point Marker/Permanent Fine Point Pen

These are sued to add dark details to your work, and can also be used to fill dark tight areas.

Soft and Abrasive Rubber Eraser/ Pencil Eraser/ Refillable Retractable Eraser/Kneaded Eraser/Electric Eraser

Soft and Abrasive Rubber Eraser - This is used to erase minor mistakes and to lighten colors in painted areas, as well as large areas.

Electric Eraser - These erasers are battery operated and come with soft and abrasive eraser refills. This is a must have for airbrush users, as it can create various effects that an ordinary eraser can’t.

Heavy Duty Abrasive Eraser - You will use this to erase tough areas, but be very careful when you’re going to use this, as it can ruin your working paper or board.

Kneaded Eraser – This is like clay and it is used to erase dark outlines and also to lighten some areas. You will
