About this ebook
It has long been predicted by the World’s scientific community, and indeed to my own knowledge from 1961 when I graduated that there would come a time when the planetary resources would become depleted, waste arisings and pollution of the land, air and water would seriously affect the environment we live in and at the same time human numbers due to population growth would become unsustainable. Undoubtedly, the most potent driver for this process is now recognized to be global climate change. That the climate is warming is now beyond reasonable doubt and there are informed projections for between 3 Degrees Celsius and 4 Degrees Celsius by the year 2100. Some suggest more than this
This book considers what our future may become, echoing others who are increasingly calling for action to divest ourselves from using fossil fuels. It outlines a roadmap, literally for the survival of the Human Race

Antarctic ice has been melting at a rate of 130 billion tons of ice (118 billion metric tons) per year for the past decade, according to NASA satellite calculations. Water is eating away at the Antarctic ice, melting it where it hits the oceans. As the ice sheets slowly thaw, water pours into the sea and this may contribute dramatically to global sea level rise, some projections suggest 3m by 2100, presumably in addition to 0.92 – 1.9m UK range now suggested by DEFRA!

Arctic ice is also thinning and is soon expected to have melted completely during the summer months. Ice cover reflects solar heat, open water does not, so this results in further heating – it is a vicious cycle,
