About this ebook

I decided to write this book to focus on the one question; How do I experience reality as it is and to become one with God, what is that I need to know and I need to do? Hence this effort is done to make a crisp book on science and technology behind Oneness by integrating the contemporary science and spirituality from various sources predominately from Oneness University teachings and various disciplines of contemporary scientific research.
Also I would like to state that this knowledge will be useful only for the present time period, that is may be for one to two decades since this universe is ever changing. While science may not change but technology may become simpler or easier in making a human being unite with God in future.
The intention of this book is to guide all of us a bit on science behind this and make us aware of what our formal education did not teach us, but certainly not to create any more cults or religions, as we already have enough and we don’t need one more

    1. Introduction

What is the purpose of life? Purpose of life is to live, there cannot be any other purpose. We think we are alive but actually we are dead, without life, we are actually living in the past ( through mind) and past is nothing but dead. It is only when we de-clutch ourselves from our minds and live through our hearts, we start living. It is something like changing the IP address of your computer to connect to internet to be connected across the globe. Without changing the IP address, even the most advanced computer cannot connect to the internet hence it will remain limited to itself with its own challenges and problems. Same way, coming out of one’s shell to connect to a vast world around is very important.

We live in beautiful and vast Universe with abundance. Even then, unfortunately we are constrained by something, which limits us from being happy and experience the abundance of the vast Universe.

In cosmology, it is believed that the Universe started off through Big Bang around 13.6 billion years ago. What we see in the observable universe through our senses and light is only one part of the story. Visible Universe is like a football and complete Universe is like earth. To measure its scale, an example can be considered. Our own Milky Way galaxy contains half a trillion stars (500,000,000,000 stars, like our sun). Also, more mass, dust and gas rotate around the center of galaxy. Sun takes around 256 million years to complete one revolution around the center of Milky Way galaxy. End-to-end across this Milky Way galaxy is almost 100 thousand light years.

Similarly our microscopic world is enormous, our body consists of almost 50 trillion cells and each cell can live independently like our body. A group of cells forms a tissue and organ. These cells work for 24 hours a day, 365 days in a year. Did we ever listen to them or spend time with them?

All living and non-living things around us that take up space and have weight are called matter. Matter is made up of molecules or atoms irrespective of what substance it is that is solid, liquid or gas. We as a human being’s physical body is also made of matter, which is made of atoms and elements.

The universe is full of matter, and attractive forces of gravity pulls all matter together. Surprisingly all this matter is just 0.4 percent. Our universe contains almost 73 of energy . Universe is not only made of atoms but lot of other stuff as we will see in the following chapter.

We are a part of this universe with an illusion of individual self. We have taken this form from light. Why did we come away from the light? Sometimes, light makes us feel that we are all alone. It is not a good thought. So how would unmanifest God or light continue to be like that, it has to bring this creation, so that a kind of separation can happen, so that we can start playing. Something like in today’s world, human beings created some physical and virtual games for the sake of entertainment. Similarly, we have also come down to play and to enjoy. But none of us seems to be playing, instead, everyone seems to be serious.

Basically, all of us are here to enjoy and to play as life is nothing but a game. It is indeed a beautiful game and we need to learn it. When we understand this game, it gives us sheer joy, but unfortunately we do not understand it and become serious. If something goes wrong, we collapse. But if we consider it as a game, will we collapse?

So what is there to life, terrible struggles? Even if you make money, lots of money, you get in to the state of unhappiness. Anything over the limit is sickening and boring after a point in time. So, whether we achieve success or not, the fact is that we are not happy. Basically, as long as ‘I’ as a person exists, irrespective of failure or success in life, the end result remains the same-we are not going to be happy. We may get pleasure but not happiness. Happiness is an inner state. As far as this ‘I’ exists, we cannot remain happy as this ‘I’ is equal to unhappiness.

World around us is phenomenal, the physical world of matter, forces, space and energy. Science and technology, which we are all studying in our formal education relates to this phenomenal world. Then there is another world related to our own internal world. We may call one the material technology and the other spiritual technology. Unfortunately, each one speaks in their own language and don’t communicate among themselves. There is no common language that each of these streams can understand.

Both technologies are important and there is perceived need to converge science and spirituality to take further leap in science, technology and spirituality.

Intention of bringing this book to larger audiences is not to change this world, but is to save time of the readers by providing a thoughtful collection of Oneness teachings and various disciplines of contemporary science. The book also intends to raise a questions related to the true purpose of life in their hearts. Once the questions start taking a shape, the book completes its purpose. It is your divine then who will guide you on through the next steps to understand and fulfill the true purpose of this life.

    2. Universe

This chapter is divided in to two sections for better understanding. First section deals with the macro level of universe while the second section deals with micro level and the man’s eternal quest of finding out what material stuff is made up of?

    Macrocosm

Ask yourself this question: How big are you in this universe?

Take a deep breath and if possible, come out of your room in to your balcony/roof and look up at the sky, observe the vast space in the observable physical universe. When you look at the sky at night, some of the stars are seen scattered all over, like glittering lamps across the city in the night.

In cosmology, it is believed that the universe started off through Big Bang around 13.6 billion years ago. Universe is not only made of atoms but lot of other stuff. Most of the text books elaborate that the universe is expanding with acceleration. Presently, the universe is undergoing exponential expansion. It is in a runaway mode.

The scale of it is something like this. Take for example our own Milky Way galaxy, it has half a trillion stars (500,000,000,000 stars, just like our sun), even more mass, dust and gas and all of this rotates around the center of galaxy. Our sun takes around 256 million years to complete one revolution around the center of Milky Way galaxy. The Milky Way is our home galaxy, the spot where the earth resides. We are not anywhere near the center, we are roughly 165 quadrillion miles from the galaxy’s black hole (almost 280,000,000,000,000,000 km). How big is it, and how does it measure up with other neighborhood residents? End-to-end across this Milky Way galaxy is almost 100 thousand light years (we are aware that one light year equals to 10,000,000,000,000 km). Of course, our galaxy is not the biggest; there are many more galaxies like M87, Herculeus A, which are many times bigger than our home, our galaxy.

The following picture shows our Home Milky way galaxy and dot represents our solar system.

So how many galaxies do we have? It is hard to provide any number, but we can put it another way. If we look through the eye of a needle in any direction of sky, we will see 1000-2000 galaxies. Milky Way is just one of around 200 billion galaxies in the observable universe. Our galaxy is also moving at velocity of 600 km/sec in expanding universe. It is estimated to be about 13.2 billion years old, nearly as old as the universe. From this, we can imagine the amount of material and matter that exist in our universe. Amazingly, all of this matter is a tiny bit of whole in our universe.

The universe is full of matter, and attractive forces of gravity pulls all matter together. Quite interestingly, our universe is expanding and this expansion is accelerating, contradictory to the gravitational attraction. It is very difficult to explain it. But something is causing the entire process. It is certain that the invisible matter (dark matter) and invisible energy (dark energy) could be the reason for this. Scientists have found that an unexplained force is changing our universe forcing galaxies farther and stretching the very fabric of space very faster.

For thousands of years, we have looked at the sky in the night and believed that all illuminated stars have made up our universe. Scientists now realize that it is not what shines in the light but what hides in the dark that holds true secrets of the sky. There is mysterious dark matter that binds stars and galaxies together. This dark repulsive energy is driving galaxies farther apart. This is mysterious invisible repulsive energy, which is causing certain stars to behave opposite and contrary to what was predicted by the Big Bang theory. Dark matter’s invisible presence is everywhere, but science has not directly proven dark matter particles. Observing something you can’t see is not easy. It doesn’t interact with light at all.

A hunt for dark matter started almost a century ago when Edwin Hubble shocked the world by sharing the fact that the universe is much larger than the Milky Way galaxy. In 1930, Caltech Fritz Zwicky first proposed the existence of dark matter. Scientists are doing research for several years but have not yet come to any conclusion on dark matter particles.

Surprisingly, what we discussed above matter is just 0.4 percent. Our universe contains almost 73 percent of dark energy as shown in the following figure:

We have no idea about both dark matter and dark energy as of now. Science started their research to understand the same. Both of them play important role in the expansion of the universe. They also play a significant role in the acceleration as it needs lot of energy to accelerate galaxies in universe.

Coming back to our home again, our sun (star) has a diameter of about 1.39 billion km, it is big compared to the planet earth. Our solar system is not just alone. It is a very tiny and is a part of the big family called Milky Way galaxy. A huge group of stars and planets that extend over a millions of miles is galaxy. Milky Way galaxy consists of somewhere between 200-400 billion stars, some of these stars are smaller and some are much bigger than the Sun.

We are a part of a big family. All of us are living in a joint family where our sun (like a father) provides energy and our planet earth (like mother), receives that energy and supports all species to live and to survive.

This whole solar system (our family) is at about 28,000 light years from the galactic center. Sun family too spins like all planets on its axis and with its big family revolve round the center of galaxy once in 256 million years. This period sometimes referred as a cosmic year. Solar system is located within the galactic plane of disk around two thirds of the way out from the center and at the inner rim of the galaxy’s Orion arm.

Some of the stars are very big and their diameters as big as the entire diameter of planetary solar system orbit .

These stars big or small normally take birth in Nebula (Dumb bell Nebula picture is shown below) like Dumb bell, Butterfly, Cone, Crab, Rosette, Eagle and Tarantula ranging from less than one light year to 1000 light years. These nebula could be a part of small and large megallanic clouds ranging between thousand to twenty thousand light years.
