    Kirsta turned to Dalanthas. "Where is Chad?" she whimpered.
    Dalanthas shook his head. "I don't know. Caldinor is missing, too."
    "Who did this?" Shanadi demanded.

    Dalanthas is looking forward to seeing his human friends again for the Elven Harvest Festival, especially Kirsta; but when his older brother Caldinor and Kirsta's brother Chad are kidnapped, it is up to the remaining humans and elves to track them down. An old friend lends a hand, and they suspect an old enemy is at fault.

    Dalanthas takes charge of the rescue, tracking down the kidnappers and hoping to settle the dispute with their family's antagonists for good. He is determined to bring his brother and Chad home safely; but when he and his company are also captured, Dalanthas discovers someone he never expected to see again.
