    Matthew and Caroline Whitherstan finally make the move an idyllic Greek island, as they have been dreaming of doing for years. They purchase an old villa which throws up plenty of surprises as they renovate it, with the help of their rather controlling architect. As they settle down, they unearth the undercurrents flowing beneath the islands peaceful façade: violent feuds between rival business men, (with whom Matthew accidentally becomes involved). One of these being Mr Anagnos; a would-be despot, and the other Demetrious Eliades, a favourite amongst the locals, who is trying to stop his takeover bid. Pilfering of priceless artefacts and smuggling from the island’s beautiful harbour and beaches is also rife. As well as uncovering the scandals of the island, Matthew and Caroline also discover its hidden villages; (along a track guarded by short tempered goats) and beaches accessible only by boat.
    As Matthew immerses himself in his new life; finding a job, making friends and harvesting olives, Caroline becomes dissatisfied and realises that she no longer wants to live there. Will the allure of an Italian smuggler prove too much? And do they sacrifice their marriage for the dream, or, as it turns out, Matthew’s dream and move back to England?
    A humorous and light hearted account of the highlights and pitfalls of finally living the dream: Reality strikes as Matthew and Caroline discover the under currents of their idyllic island. Lasting friendships are made and deadly rivalries and criminal activities revealed and thwarted. For one it is the start of a new and wonderful life, for the other; disillusionment and the realisation that they want a completely different lifestyle.

    Lucilla Morecambe was born in 1993, in a small coastal town in the north-west of England.From an early age she enjoyed reading works by authors such as P G Wodehouse and Gerald Durrell, and also hugely enjoyed writing short stories or poetry. Finding the works by these authors entertaining and uninvolved, she wanted to follow in their style and create a novel which allowed the reader to relax and escape from everyday existence.She was fortunate enough at the age of twelve and in subsequent years to holiday on a tiny island in the Aegean Sea. Here she discovered a wealth of information about the people living there and about the place itself, although at the time, there were no plans to put this into a book.After several attempts at novel writing, she finally completed the first draft of Dreams End Amongst the Olive Groves at the age of seventeen. All attempts at getting this published failed however. After rewriting the book in the hope of making it more acceptable to publishers, she finally decided to self-publish the work as an eBook.Lucilla Morecambe is currently studying for Bachelor of the Sciences Degree, with plans to complete and publish her next novel in 2016.
