Everyone quotes 'It is a truth universally acknowledged…' but this is just one of many, many illuminations her charactes and narratives divulge as they journey through her works. And now, her Poetry. Succinct but a valuable adition to the display of her talents.
Jane Austen
Jane Austen (1775-1817) was an English novelist known primarily for her six major novels—Sense and Sensibility, Pride and Prejudice, Mansfield Park, Emma, Northanger Abbey, and Persuasion—which observe and critique the British gentry of the late eighteenth century. Her mastery of wit, irony, and social commentary made her a beloved and acclaimed author in her lifetime, a distinction she still enjoys today around the world.

Jane Austen – An Introduction
Some would argue that Jane Austen was England’s finest authoress and it would be hard to argue against. The characters and sweep of the lives of the landed gentry and her grip on social commentary in Pride & Prejudice, Sense & Sensibility, Emma, Northanger Abbey are true testament to her greatness in a life of only 42 years. But here we present another facet of her talent; her poetry. Often overlooked and admittedly slim but revealing nonetheless.
These poems are also available as an audiobook read for you by Ghizela Rowe and can be found at iTunes, Amazon and other digital stores.
