About this ebook
Musk Ox, our rambunctious anti-hero, literally chews through the cover of this anarchic alphabet book. Having eaten the apple that A was supposed to be for, he blithely inserts himself, claiming A is for Musk Ox—because musk oxen are Awesome and live in the Arctic, which includes Alaska! Zebra, his nemesis, is less than thrilled.
And so this cantankerous couple lead the reader on a romp through the alphabet with Musk Ox claiming every letter for himself, and Zebra doing his level best to keep him under control. Filled with Matthew Myers's hilarious artwork with lots of hidden details for kids to explore, this may be the funniest alphabet book ever created.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This silly tale will keep alphabet-learning children ages 3-7 rolling in the aisles for a rollicking storytime read-aloud. A unique twist on the traditional ABC book- "A" is definitely not for apple anymore, but you'd be surprised what it can stand for. Constantly bickering with one another, musk ox and zebra unwittingly share interesting and unusual facts about many different animals- but mainly about musk oxen. Be aware that the words "musk ox" and "musk oxen" end up being quite a tongue twister as they are repeated again and again on every page.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Overbearing musk ox takes over fun, zany alphabet book.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5An A-Z book for kids who are a bit past A is for apple, this book finds descriptive words that start with the chosen letter. This is a nice describing vocabulary introduction. And the musk ox is funny!
