Reviews for Florence Nightingale
12 ratings2 reviews
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5A beautifully illustrated, informative introductory portrait.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This book largely reads like a fictional story book, which is fine if one were to use it in, perhaps, an elementary classroom. From the writing style to the art, this casual retelling of the story of Florence Nightingale and her influence on modern medicine is an enjoyable yet simplistic. I was not a big fan of the art, though I can see the appeal of the stylized and colorful images. I cannot see a practical application for this book in my own classrooms, but I would likely recommend it to an Elementary social studies teacher to include in their library.
