About this ebook
Choices... Mael has made too many bad ones under the shadow of his former master. Freed of his chains, yet emptied of purpose, Mael knows he’s beyond forgiveness. A single damning call from a former lover might steer him back into doing some good, even if it ends up killing him.
Regrets... Werewolf alpha Ulfric Silverfang possesses a trunk full of them locked inside his heart. Losing his son is one of them, betraying his mate is another. When an opportunity arises for Ulfric to claim back his losses, failure isn’t an option, even if that means braving a maelstrom.

- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Really poorly edited. Basically starts with this whole emotional betrayal that ends up being a non issue as the outcome was basically never in question. In the end the plot fizzles and it is just sex scenes linked with some other stuff.

Prologue
Past
Do I have to do everything myself? Dispose of the body,
Solomon sneered. Damn useless pieces of garbage.
Not bothering to wait for Mael or Tor’s response, he ambled away from the fresh corpses and back to the sewer entrance. Nothing else left to discuss between Mael and Tor. They’d done the dark deed a hundred times in a thousand other variations and settings.
Without needing words, Mael hefted up the first corpse’s legs while Tor took the other end. Together, they dumped the first corpse in the dirty sewer water. Then the second, and third, until they were all piled neatly, waiting to be incinerated. Would anyone be waiting for the men they killed in cold blood back home? Worried parents, squalling children, or apprehensive lovers perhaps? Didn’t matter and never would, Mael reminded himself, shoving the guilt back into another box inside him and throwing the key away after.
Mael wiped his hands on his dirty cloak, a useless gesture. His hands had been stained with blood long ago.
You want to start the fire or should I?
Tor asked. When Mael didn’t reply, Tor shrugged. Help me with the gas then.
Together, they emptied the cans of gasoline. Tor flicked a matchstick and let it fly. The familiar smell of death and despair wafted under their noses. Mael’s eyes watered. Much to his shame, he nearly gagged. Years, fuck, centuries of doing the same old shit and he still couldn’t stomach it.
Contrary to the popular belief held by his peers in the supernatural underworld community, Mael didn’t like killing or having blood on his hands. Hard to disprove the rumor too, since Mael and Tor apprenticed under Zane Solomon, one of the century’s most infamous dark wizards. Not willingly of course. Nothing was ever simple, but then, in Mael’s experience, life never was.
I’m good here. You can head on up. Do whatever you need to do,
Tor said with no shred of malice in his voice, just unspoken understanding.
They may not be related by blood, but the bonds of brotherhood between them had been shaken and tested over the years, only to be remade stronger than ever. Without Tor beside him during their long road to hell, Mael didn’t think he’d survive this long.
Thanks,
Mael said, letting his gratefulness show in his tone this time around. Being bound to an abusive and uncaring master like Solomon, Mael and Tor learned early to hide their emotions, to never expose their weakness and to always be careful.
Go on. Don’t keep your wolf waiting,
Tor said, a rare smile on his lips.
Mael walked back to the ladder leading topside, his good mood shattering when he caught sight of the grim expression on Ulfric’s face. He sighed. Not a visit of pleasure then. What do you what?
Why do you automatically assume I want something from you?
Ulfric returned, offering a hand and hauling him up.
The alleyway remained dark and empty since the time they entered the sewers and did their dirty business. Piercing darkness replaced daylight, giving Mael a boost of confidence. "Because nighttime is
