He'd always wanted to sail on a pirate ship like he read about in books. One day he and Carl were out walking by the river and found a wooden palette. - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5[Jimmy and the Raft Adventure] interesting story. Jimmy and his friend Carl..building and sailing a homemade raft and the problems they encountered when they set sail. A good lesson to be learned from the book..the need to inform others, parents or guardians, where and what you are doing to avoid what could be dangerous situations. Possibly better suited for an older age group because of the vocabulary used..But I would recommend the book..

It follows them as they plan on building a raft and then get themselves into trouble, the book touches on consequences, need to communicate with parents/guardians in a light way. I did find that some of the words used were fairly large for the age group this book is intended for.
