Chapter 1

Raelyn P.O.V.

You’d think since it’s the last summer before our last year of college our lives would somewhat be on track. Wrong! We are in the age range of discovering ourselves. Being in your early twenties has you in the same drama as being in your teens. I thought that once I was finally with the love of my life I would be happy and everything would be sunshine and roses. I guess no one ever prepared me for growing pains as far as relationships are concerned.

Lets talk about tonight shall we?

Well tonight was the first official night of summer break. Jason (my boyfriend) had to work. I was off but I stopped by with our friends as usual to check in on him. Going to visit him was the worst idea ever.

You see Jason, Xavier, Derek, Ariel, and I all work at this club. Our lives were a made for TV reality show without the cameras. The difference between my friends and a casted crew for a reality show was that we all grew up together. But we all had our drama too (unscripted of course).

See Jason and I have been a couple since our senior year of high school. We had a rocky start because some hoe lied and said Jason got her pregnant when in reality her adopted brother knocked her up. That slut!

Now my friend Ariel she has an on again off again relationship with this guy named Trent. I introduced the two at a graduation party our senior year of high school and they had been going back and forth ever since.

I should also mention that Xavier (another one of my friends) is in love with Ariel. Ariel is in between both guys and it’s just a hot mess. Trent also works at the club with us, so that makes things even more interesting.

On to Derek…He is the only mellow one out of all of us because he’s not tied down and is free to do what he wants. He’s so lucky.

So let me explain our jobs here. So this club is a new club it’s only been open for a short time. See Ariel and I are bartenders. Derek is a doorman at times but also a promoter. Jason has the jobs of promoting, working the door, and bartending as well (so he has like three jobs in one). Xavier he is the dj most nights. He went from house parties to the club scene. We all loved our jobs because we got to work together but also make money while having fun.

Now that I’ve explained a little bit of where we’re at I should explain what happened just tonight. So I went with Ariel to the club to surprise Jason. The guys hadn’t shown up yet but Ariel and I arrived just in time for me to catch a co-worker of ours Sheila flirting with Jason.

You see I’m use to girls hitting on Jason. That’s nothing new because girls have been running after him since he was a baby. Blame it on his good looks.

But you see I have a problem with Jason and Sheila interacting because Sheila is known for being a boyfriend stealer. The reason I know this is because she hooked up with Ariel’s boyfriend Trent a couple times.

The fact that Sheila hooked up with Trent made nights working with all of them awkward. Especially after Ariel got back with Trent.

Anyway I saw Sheila rub up against Jason and he just laughed it off and didn’t do anything so I walked up to them and interrupted their little moment.

Jason played it off as if it was nothing and just kissed me before pouring me a drink. I took a couple shots to calm myself down because I was overly jealous for some reason tonight.

Jason had never cheated on me and never would. But I couldn’t lie… we had and still have our problems. But we were a couple going on four years now. You couldn’t expect us to last this long without something going wrong at some point. I guess that’s why we were going to be tested now.

All night I had been in the club with my friends at a table. I hung out had a couple drinks and was having a good time. Every time I looked over at Jason he and Sheila were just acting like the best of friends. I was annoyed so when a friend of mine showed up I did the most to get Jason’s attention.

You see I have this friend named Jaden. He’s so hot and plays football at UCLA (our college). He’s mixed (black and white) and has the pretty boy thing going for him. Not as much as Jason, but he still has it going on.

But moving on along. Jaden and I had met back during my freshman year of college. He was known around campus and such. But he is an actual nice guy once you get to know him. I could call him at anytime and know he’d be there for me. I considered him a friend even though Jason doesn’t like him.

Jason believes Jaden wants me. This could be true but Jason fails to realize I have the guy I want (that being him).

So when I caught up with Jaden at the club he bought me a drink and asked me to dance. I said sure to dancing with him and we hit the dance floor.

There was a song playing that happened to be his favorite. I was dancing with him like I would with any guy. I had obviously been dancing with him in a bad way because for some reason Jason stormed onto the dance floor and pulled me away from Jaden. For the rest of the night I sat at the bar until he got off work. Jason said he wanted to keep an eye on me.

I was embarrassed because I wasn’t even doing anything wrong. If I wanted to really piss Jason off I would have actually put some real effort into getting a rise out of him. I might have been a little jealous about the attention Sheila was giving him but I in no way was trying to get back at him.

Once Jason got off work he drove us home. Our friends had left the club before Jason got off and I was just stuck waiting to catch a ride with him.

It wasn’t a huge inconvenience to Jason because we both lived at the same apartment complex. Our apartments were just a floor away from each other. He lived with Xavier and Derek, while I lived with Ariel. Having separate apartments didn’t really matter because every night I either slept at his place or he slept at my place.

When I got home to my apartment I saw Ariel siting on the couch watching a movie. Jason and I went to my room and closed the door. Not a second after I closed my bedroom door did Jason completely go off on me.

I told you about hanging around Jaden, Raelyn! Why are you so set on flirting with him in my face! Jason shouted.

I wasn’t flirting! Plus I’m surprised you even noticed Jaden and I with Sheila all over you! I yelled.

The girl is flirtatious I can’t help that, Jason argued.

And Jaden wanted to dance so I was being nice and danced with him, I said.

That boy wanted to do more then just dance with you Raelyn and you know that! Jason continued.

You get jealous over the dumbest stuff! I yelled.

Coming from the most insecure girl I know! Jason shouted.

If I’m so insecure then break up with me! I suggested.

Maybe I should. You know how many girls want me!

Then go get with all the girls that want you and get one pregnant again!

I never got that girl pregnant, or have you forgotten that fact! Why are you even bringing up some old high school bullshit anyway? It has nothing to do with what we’re talking about!

Whatever get the hell out of my face!

No!

Get out!

Jason sat on my bed and took off his shoes. I didn’t know why he was getting comfortable. He had picked a fight with me and now wanted to just go to bed like it was nothing. He had another thing coming, tonight.

You’re being stupid! Jason shouted

I hate you! I yelled.

I was standing in front of Jason and he reached out and put his arms around my waist moving me so I was standing between his legs.

Don’t say that you hate me when I’m only looking out for you baby, Jason said.

Jason moved his hands underneath my shirt and started touching my skin. It wasn’t the time for him to try to feel me up. He wasn’t getting lucky tonight.

I pushed his hands away and slapped him across the face as I moved away from him.

Don’t touch me Jason! I yelled.

Don’t slap me when I’ve done nothing wrong Raelyn! Jason shouted.

Jason stood up and grabbed my arm. He pulled me toward him and tried to kiss me but I didn’t want to kiss him. He always did this. He would want a fight to end if it wasn’t going his way so he thought kissing me would distract me, solving all our problems.

Get off me! Stop it! I yelled.

Then stop fighting with me! Jason shouted.

No! Get out, you’re not sleeping here tonight go home! I yelled.

I pushed Jason off me but he grabbed me again. I pushed him away from me harder and grabbed my desk lamp throwing it at his head. Jason dodged the lamp by ducking his head.

Raelyn what the fuck! Why did you just try to hit me in the head with that lamp! Jason shouted.

GO HOME!!!!! I yelled.

I went into my bathroom, slamming door behind me.

Ariel and I both had our own bathrooms connected to our bedrooms. I was so glad I could at least escape Jason by locking myself in the bathroom for a few minutes.

Jason just had to say something. Why couldn’t he ever just leave a situation alone? He could let girls flirt with him no problem. But when I dance innocently with a friend it’s a huge deal. Talk about a double standard.

Chapter 2

Jason P.O.V.

Lately I’ve been picking fights with Raelyn when it came to Jaden when I knew I shouldn’t have been. I knew she didn’t want Jaden and was just being nice. But I also knew Jaden was up to no good whenever he was around Raelyn. A couple years back when Raelyn first even met Jaden I had a bad feeling about him. It also didn’t help that he flat out told me he could get Raelyn if he wanted to. Ever since Jaden told me that he pretty much could break up my relationship whenever he felt like it. I had my guard up when it came to him even talking to Raelyn.

You see Raelyn is black and I’m white. Us being in an interracial relationship never mattered to our friends or us. It was the outside world that always brought this insecurity out of me. Sometimes I guess you could say I felt like I could lose her to a black guy or mixed in this case. But it was crazy for me to ever have this insecurity because I know what Raelyn and I have is too special. No one could come between us.

When I woke up I looked over at the beautiful girlfriend I had worked too hard to keep, sleeping beside me.

My girlfriend Raelyn is seriously my everything. I love her more then life itself. I know deep down in my heart I see myself married to her with kids one day. I love her just that much.

As I watched her sleep I could feel her moving in my arms. I was holding her like I did every night. Last night after our argument she stormed off into her bathroom and I just waited for her in bed. She told me to go home but she knew I wasn’t going to leave her.

When Raelyn finally came out of the bathroom last night she looked like she had been crying. She was wearing one of my shirts and when she saw me lying on her bed she seemed relieved that I had stayed.

Why didn’t you leave? Raelyn asked quietly.

Because I’ll never leave you. Come here, I said.

Raelyn walked over to the bed and I hugged her.

You shouldn’t be so worried about Jaden. He’s just a friend, Raelyn said.

I’m not worried about him. I’m worried about you. I love you and I don’t want him doing anything to you, I said.

Do you want another girl? Raelyn asked.

I knew I made her insecure by throwing in her face that other girls wanted me. I should have never said anything like that to her, but I did. I didn’t like seeing Raelyn hurt by anything I did to her.

No I only want you, I said.

I kissed Raelyn’s lips lightly. Raelyn moved her arms around my neck and I moved my hands under the shirt of mine she was wearing.

I moved my hands up her body and when I reached her breasts I could feel that she wasn’t wearing a bra. I broke off our kiss and looked into Raelyn’s eyes.

Baby are you naked underneath my shirt? I asked.

Take it off and find out, Raelyn said seductively.

Raelyn was becoming more and more bolder in the bedroom lately and I loved it. Ever since she lost her virginity to me back during our freshman year of college I couldn’t get enough of her.

I took my shirt off her and she was in fact naked.

Last night after Raelyn and I made love we both fell asleep and that’s led us to where we were this morning.

Jason, Raelyn said waking up.

I’m right here baby, I said. I leaned down and kissed her neck and she giggled.

I loved Raelyn’s giggles and laughs. I loved everything about her.

J stop it I need to get up and eat breakfast, Raelyn said.

I stopped kissing her and let her get up. She was still naked and I was checking her out as she stood up. Raelyn grabbed one of my hoodies and put it on. It went down to her knees. She also put up on of my snapbacks and then came back over to the bed.

Baby you look so sexy wearing my clothes, I said.

Raelyn smiled and gave me a kiss. She took my hand and I got out of bed. I had boxers on so I didn’t need any clothes.

We went into the kitchen to make us some breakfast. We only made one plate of food because we always shared.

Raelyn was siting on the kitchen counter and I was standing in front of her. We ate our breakfast pretty quickly and then began making out.

I pulled Raelyn’s body to the edge of the kitchen counter and she wrapped her legs around my waist.

As I moved my hands underneath the hoodie she was wearing I could hear the front door open. I didn’t care who it was I was too busy with Raelyn to even think about stopping what we were doing.

Could you two not practice baby making near the eatables, Ariel said fake gagging.

Raelyn and I stopped kissing and Raelyn got off the counter.

So I’m guessing you slept at the boy’s place last night, Raelyn said to Ariel.

Where else did you expect me to sleep with you two going at it all night. First the fighting then the boning, Ariel said.

Were Raelyn and I really that loud?

Sorry, Raelyn said slightly blushing.

Baby I’m going to go take a shower, I said.

Ok lets go shower, Raelyn said.

I took Raelyn’s hand and we went back to her room to shower. I loved being this happy with her. I felt like we were married without the official papers and stuff.

If I got pregnant what do you think we’d have first? A boy or a girl? Raelyn asked.

We had showered and were now getting dressed. Most guys would think baby talk with their girlfriend was weird. But I didn’t mind because Raelyn and I were open about wanting kids together one day.

After the whole ordeal with Ashley in high school I knew that if I ever became a dad it would be because I was having a baby with Raelyn.

"A little boy. We need a boy first so that if we have any little girls they have someone to look after them when I’m not around. If I have daughters that look anything like their mother they’re going to need some over protective guys in their lives looking out for them.

I can’t wait until the day we have babies, Raelyn said smiling.

I can’t wait until the day I impregnate you, I said.

I gave Raelyn a kiss and then told her I’d see her later. I had to get back to my apartment. I needed to hang out with the guys for a while.

Our friends had told Raelyn and I once before that we were too wrapped up into each other that we were neglecting our friendships. So ever since our friends had that mini intervention Raelyn and I made sure we weren’t as wrapped up in our own romance that we didn’t talk to other people.

Raelyn P.O.V.

When Jason left to go hang out with the guys I was sad that I wouldn’t be seeing him for the rest of the day. I missed him whenever we weren’t together. But I knew I needed to have my time with my girls too.

I walked out of my room and went into the living room and saw Ariel siting on the couch. I sat beside her so we could go over our game plan for the day.

I take it that you and Jason are good again, Ariel said.

Yup, I said.

So since everything is great does this mean you can have girl’s night with me, Ariel said.

Of course.

Good because Kendra agreed to come with.

Really she can come. I thought she was on baby duty.

Not tonight. She said Clay’s taking care of the baby and Raquel.

You know their daughter and son are so cute.

I know. They are so adorable.

I hope I have cute kids like theirs with Jason.

Not this again.

All you’ve talked about for the past month it seems is having a baby with Jason. I don’t think having Kendra as a friend helps you any either. You see her and Clay and think that will be you and Jason.

So what. Jason and I both want to have kids one day.

That one day should be years from now. You two are too young to be so serious about wanting kids together. You’re only twenty-one. No twenty one year old wants a baby holding them back.

What if I do want a baby now.

Tell me you and Jason aren’t trying.

We’re not trying but I did stop taking my birth control.

Raelyn what the hell! Does Jason at least use condoms?

Yes… most of the time. Except for in the shower. In the shower he just uses the pull out method.

Does he even know you aren’t on birth control anymore?

Yes we talked about it and he agreed that I should stop taking it.

After all that shit senior year with Ashley you two are being careless. You’re going to get pregnant if you don’t watch out.

No I’m not. I won’t get pregnant unless Jason wants me to get pregnant. But if I got pregnant I wouldn’t be mad about it.

You’re so dumb. Blindly in love.

Ariel just didn’t get my relationship with Jason. We had been together for nearly four years now. If we weren’t talking about our future together that would be a problem. But the fact that Jason and I were openly talking about what we wanted made me feel secure in our future together. I know he’s the one. I know I’ll have a future with him.

Chapter 3

Jason P.O.V.

Party at my place tonight. Come through but don’t bring the girlfriend ;)

I was siting in my car because I was waiting for Raelyn to get something out of the drug store.

I got a text message from Sheila about her throwing a party. Sheila’s a cute light skinned girl with light brown hair to put it simply. She is half black half Korean, so she is mixed. If I was single again I would passably give her a chance but my heart was with Raelyn I wouldn’t let some pretty girl come ruin what we have.

I’ll come through but my girl is coming with me!

I texted Sheila back right as Raelyn got back in the car. She set her stuff on the floor and buckled her seat belt.

There’s a party at Sheila’s tonight. You’re coming with me, I said.

I started my car and backed out of the parking lot.

How do you know she’s having a party and why must I go, Raelyn said.

I handed her my phone and she read the two recent text messages. You see Raelyn and I don’t keep secrets and we both know each other’s passwords for each other’s phones. Hers is my birthday and mine is her birthday. Trust is the key to any relationship.

Did she have to add the winky face? Does she not get that you and I are in a serious relationship and this isn’t cute, Raelyn said giving me back my phone.

Some people don’t take us serious Rae you know that. But you see I told her I was bringing you with me, I said.

You’re welcome to go alone. I don’t want to go to that girl’s party. I don’t like her after what she did with Trent while Ariel was with him.

I thought Ariel was with Xavier again.

Nope she’s back with Trent for now. But you know that changes day by day.

I wish Ariel would just leave Trent alone and be with Xavier. You know he loves her.

Yeah and she loves him but she also loves Trent. It’s hard when you’re in love with two people.
