Introduction
In the first few years after I moved to Santa Barbara California from Albany New York, I spent much of my spare time painting. It was some time around then that my father became interested in the Stations of the Cross. Apparently many protestant churches were including these as part of their worship spaces, particularly during the Lenten season. He asked me to paint them, and to write prayers to go along with the paintings. I explained to him they would be of my style, and he insisted this was exactly what he wanted.
Every year the Stations hang for Lent along with their accompanying prayers. Every year new people walk them, comment on them, and approach me, touched by their display.
I love how the Stations continue to be a positive experience, touching people's lives, so long after their creation. It was for this reason, I decided to create this book.
You can call it what you like – a devotional, meditation, or guided journaling. It is probably a little of all three. Absolutely it is a guided
