- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5The fact that one of the sleuths in this book is blind makes this book stick out a bit within the crime genre, though it also turns the focus of the story from the crime drama towards the private drama of Naomi's strategies for dealing with being blind. Since this is a book in a longer series, hopefully future books shift more to a business as usual approach, where Naomi's disability is simply part of who she is, rather than the focus of the book. After all, her skills and background as a DI define her far more than her disability, or ought to. Still, within the context of the series, which my library doesn't possess in full, this was a decent novel and one I'd recommend for readers wanting more character diversity in their crime fiction.
