    I write poetry zines and ebooks and am currently working on updating them all into Smashwords. If you are not familiar with a ZINE it is a book produced from a photo copier or a printer. I have just come back from my first zinefest in NYC held at Barnard College. I also write fiction and my first book is called SLANTBOARD which takes place in the future where people can ride on boards that float a little off the ground nor do they go much over 10 miles and hour so they have a similar culture to long-distance bike riding.       punched out like a paper sack

      lit by handles of candles and around

      out over a fire of mesquite and chili

      pepper the Christmas of tin opened

      up in MUSICAL notes of gun shots in

      the darkness and stillness broken into

      pieces of buckshot lead on a red or

      green plate full of ginger snaps that

      was smoked in a heaped pile and

      COVERED over by cow dung till it

      baked to perfection and could be

      sold in a pottery shop to amaze each

      onlooker of purchasing power the

      Christmas of tin’s edges were sharp

      and drew blood from white skin

      easier than on baked skin

      only because they were uncut

      and buffed by LAPS IN THE POOL

      A B S E N T L A W N

      this whole business of mowing while

      the mosquitoes are growing and

      gas prices higher everyone in cut

      grass CLIPPINGS and mold spores

      and pollen allergy season sunburn

      ticks mites and jiggers spider bites

      and gas fumes from vehicles left

      RUNNING for no reason is hard

      to endure better still are the

      kinds of lawns that are non-

      existent the ones designed

      out of ROCKS and twigs

      except those do not give

      off oxygen they give off

      heat instead where grass

      is a living and breathing up

      CARBON and adding cooling

      oxygen to the mixture and

      fresh weeds like dandelion
