About this ebook

204 ROSEWOOD LANE

Debbie Macomber

Six months after her husband of 35 years, Dan, disappeared, Grace Sherman is confident he's run off with another woman, so, against her daughter, Kelly's wishes, she files for divorce. Meanwhile, Judge Olivia has love problems of her own. Her ex–husband wants her back, giving her on–again, off–again suitor, Jack Griffin, some stiff competition. Jack has other problems. His son, Eric, comes home to bunk with dad, on the outs with his girlfriend, Shelly, who thinks she's pregnant. Olivia's daughter, Justine, wises up and marries her high school sweetheart, but Zach and Rosie Cox find their marriage on the skids when Rosie's volunteer work takes precedence over her family responsibilities. Maryellen Sherman, Grace's older daughter and manager of the local art gallery, becomes pregnant after a brief affair with artist Jon Bowman. Romance, babies, divorce and marriage keep Cedar Cove gossips buzzing.

This is the second book in the Cedar Cove series. This time we learn more about the judge (Olivia) from the first book and why she made the decision that she did with the young couple. We also meet a more seasoned couple who are considering divorce as well and claim to only have their children's interest at heart. Olivia's unconventional ruling of joint custody with the parents moving between two houses instead of the children requires them to rethink their current situation. We also learn more about Olivia's daughter and son-in-law, along with Olivia's best friend (Grace) and we find out what happened to Grace's husband who disappeared in the first book.

In the next installment of the Cedar Cove series, we are introduced to Rosie and Zach Cox. Zach is extremely frustrated that Rosie spends more time volunteering and barely has time to cook a meal. Dinners at their house are usually microwaved or take-out. Marital stress takes it toll and the couple decides to separate.Meanwhile, Grace Sherman has divorced her husband, who disappeared in 16 Lighthouse Road. She?s convinced he left her and her daughters for another woman, so she decides it?s time for her to move on as well. She develops a friendship with Cliff Harding and entertains the idea of moving their relationship forward. Grace?s daughter, Maryellen, has sworn off men as a result to a short-lived marriage. Maryellen feels men are not to be trusted and spends her time avoiding the dating scene and engrossed in her work. That is until she meets Jon.Olivia Lockhart, her mother Charlotte, daughter Justine and boyfriend Jack are also back in this book. 204 Rosewood Lane continues to interweave the lives of the residents of Cedar Cove. As more characters are introduced, readers cannot help but to feel as though they are catching up with old friends.

Residents of the close-knit community of Cedar Cove, Washington, have always assumed that Grace Sherman, the town librarian, is as demure as she appears - but they couldn't be more wrong. Underneath Grace's demure exterior, is a spine of steel that quickly surfaces when she must face the strange and sudden disappearance of her husband, Dan. So, Cedar Cove bands together around one of its own, and Grace's family and friends bring great comfort to her at such a difficult time. But Grace is reminded that life can and does move on - and, amid the various weddings and births, and other major life events that occur in Cedar Cove - she must be strong enough to help her family deal with their own confusion and devastation at Dan's absence. However, will Grace's love, devotion, and dedication to her family in the face of such a personal tragedy, ultimately prove sufficient to keep them all together?I must say that I haven't read that many books by Debbie Macomber before. The Shop on Blossom Street was my first one - and that was on a recommendation from my sister who lives in Australia. I'm usually not that much of a romance fan, but this book was a fast-paced and engaging story that I really enjoyed. Dan's disappearance certainly played an important role in the story - however, the romantic elements of the story weren't overwhelming; which is also something that I appreciated. I give this book a definite A!

Still don't really care for the writing style. At times it is very hard to keep track of who is who and what is happening to who. Not really sure if I'm going to continue this series. I like some of the characters but find myself getting very confused during the books and having to stop and figure out what storyline I'm reading now. Would probably be better if each couple had a different book..

This is a warm, romantic story where everyone living in the same community, knows everybody, and they all experience the ups and downs of happines and tragedy. Just the sort of book to while away a few hours.

The second book in Macomber's Cedar Cove series, this one continued where the first book left off. I was glad to know what finally happened to Dan, although it was put off until the end of the book, and was honestly a little anticlimactic and a bit unbelievable. I really like Mary-Ellen's storyline, but was a bit put off by Justine's sudden change from not wanting marriage or children to suddenly getting married and immediately having Seth's baby. It seems a bit contrived to think that someone would have the profound of a shift in ideals in real life. Zach and Rosemary were interesting, but not so much as the other characters. I really disliked Rosemary and her attitude. She is the type of women who drives their husband's right into the arms of their personal assistant. It should be interesting to see how their relationship progresses in the next book.

Another goodie from Debbie Macomber. She has to be the queen of series authorship. I truly loved the Blossom Street novels and the Rose Harbor Inn books. This 2nd novel in the Cedar Cove Series continues the saga of Olivia and friends. Good summer time reading!

An enjoyable book that reminds me that life and love are not the sole province of the young, even in novels!

Picked this book up after reading the first, eager to find out more about the disappearance of Grace's husband. So happy that Justine is not with Warren. I liked Justine a lot more after she left him, than I did in the first book. I loved Cliff! He was so great to Grace. Was nice to hear more about Jack and Olivia, although I really didn't like Stan's character. We also met the Cox's when Olivia hands down an unusual custody agreement.

Picking up several of the loose threads left at the end of "16 Lighthouse Road", "204 Rosewood Lane" is the second book in Debbie Macomber's Cedar Cove series. The book focuses mostly on Grace Sherman as she copes with the disappearance of her husband Dan and finally learns what happened to him. The book also deals with Grace's best friend, Olivia, and her ongoing romance with newspaperman Jack Griffin, plus some surprising news from her ex-husband, Stan, and distressing news about her mother, Charlotte. All of their children have relationship issues and there are a few unexpected pregnancies along the way. Finally, the book features Zach and Rosemary Cox and their marriage woes. "204 Rosewood Lane" is another one of Macomber's nice, cozy stories. It was nice to have closure to the disappearance of Dan Sherman, even if Macomber did seem to have different plans for him originally and had to backtrack, not always successfully, to cover up some plot lines initiated in the first book that didn't fit in this book. Macomber seems to lose track of some of her characters; Charlotte is absent for much of the book, appears long enough to get some devastating news about her health, and then pretty much disappears again, seemingly making a miraculous recovery. Still, despite the flaws, Macomber is a gifted storyteller, who creates characters readers care about, enough so that they will want to buy the next book in the series, if only to find out who the mysterious stranger was who died while staying at Bob and Peggy Beldon's bed-and-breakfast. And to find out if Olivia is in love with Jack or still in love with her ex, Stan. And if the Cox's marriage can be saved. You get the idea! "204 Rosewood Lane" is a good, cozy read.

204 Rosewood Lane deals with judge Olivia again. This time the main people are of course Olivia and Jack and their dating woes. It has more to do with Jacks son Erick. Grace is dipping her foot into romance. Justine and her new husband Seth are progressing in their marriage. Also a parenting couple is thrown in that is sure to resurface later. Grace's daughter Maryellen is also more involved in this book. I can already tell that Olivia and her close family and friends are going to be in every book with a new couple thrown in in each book. Series like these make it hard for me to jolt down just the bare minimial so that I don't actually remember the ending but I kind of know what the book is about. I'm already looking for the next one in this amusing series.

In this book Grace Sherman Finally found out what happen to Dan. Grace develops a friendship with Cliff Harding. Maryellen feels that all men are not to be trusted and avoided them. Until she meet Jon Bowman. One night with Jon she thought that it was a misstake then she found out that she was going to have a baby. She was not going to let Jon know about her pregnacy. Olivia romance with Jack Griffin started to get strained with the help with her ex-husband Stan that wants Olivia back. Olivia's daughter Justine and Seth (son-in-law) had bought The Captain's Galley and getting ready for their frist child. Then intorduce to Rosie and Zach Cox. I like Cedar Cove, Washington and want to hear more about the town and the people.

This is a cute series but i recommend you read the books close together as the books rely heavily upon the last one. The characters are great and very loveable. Makes you feel like you live there in cedar cove with them. A great light read with some mystery and romance intermingled together for a delightful entertaining read.
