    Introduction

Phong Nha-Ke Bang national park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the Quang Binh Province. The park has over 300 caves and grottos, including the largest caverns and passageways. It holds several world records, with the longest (Son Doòng cave, +-5.6 miles), and deepest caves, and the longest underground river (+-8.7 miles, Phong Nha cave). The karsts of Phong Nha can be traced back to the Paleozoic era, around 400 million years ago. The park is around 310 miles south of Hanoi, 160 miles north of the port city of Da Nang, and around 32 miles from Dong Hoi City. There are no direct commercial flights to Phong Nha,
