About this ebook

Where are all the personal A.D.D. stories?

That is what I wondered as I searched for books about A.D.D. and A.D.H.D. There was no lack of expert advice, but so few titles with a direct connection. This book begged to be written.

Inside you'll learn that...For 28 years and counting, I have been a student of A.D.D. I have lived with it intimately and learned to cope with it effectively. I was diagnosed at age 10, and have run the gamut from medication to no medication. I have developed many personal coping skills, and I don't think an expert could pick me out of a crowd.

Inside I tell you my story with a sincere hope that it will help you. I hope you find something you can relate to and something that you can use to encourage others. I have included the information that I have found encouraging in my own journey.
I have received comments from all over the world in regard to my story and my list of Famous People with A.D.D. I've heard from people who have shared the list with their children with positive results. I've received comments from people who have thanked me for changing the way they view themselves and A.D.D.

In addition to my list, inside you'll find:

Quotes
Tables of data
Simplified information and stats
Links to great resources
A book list of recommended reading

This is a personal story of my life with A.D.D. I wrote it for you.

Do you or someone you know experience depression?

Experience. That's an odd way to put it, but Ava refuses to say, suffering. There you have the theme of this entire book. A round peg ever eluding the square hole, Ava takes you on a journey through a brilliant mind ravaged by mental demons.

You are not alone. Your feelings aren't so crazy. Daring to laugh in the face of mental illness and critics alike, Ava reaches out through her own vulnerability to grasp at the darkness. An undying message that things will be better and one day that grasping will bring huge returns.

This one is not to be missed. Love wins. See it on Amazon.

PMCover4.png Kendon and Catherine. They are a match made in heaven, and that’s where the cliche ends. Their dysfunction is average, uneventful even. It’s not obvious right away that two worlds have collided...in more ways than one. Catherine is your average high school English teacher, and Kendon just your basic Historian. They live together, but have separate lives. It was over before it began.

A simple tale of racial and spatial challenges married with the wonder of childhood fantasy. This story with an uncommon twist will keep you reading. A simple tale appropriate for preteens and up of any background.

Population Miniscule is a story that doesn’t end. It continues on through the imagination. It lives in the whispers of an empty house, feeling eyes when there are none, seeing glimpses to turn and find nothing. That is where the Miniscule live. Grab it.

    Dedication

This book is dedicated first to God. Without Him, this writing would not be possible.

I dedicate who I am and the memories of this journey to my wonderful parents. They never gave up on me. They fought for me. My dad also kept a file of my school records including all of my report cards from Elementary school. Without them, many of the details would have been based on memory and not documented fact.

I dedicate this book also to my nephew, Joshua, who is on his own journey. I dedicate it to his parents who travel with him steadfastly.

I dedicate this to all the people who have loved me and gone the extra mile to understand me...to those who have never left my side.

This book is dedicated to the doctors and teachers who worked beside my parents and I for so many years...even that one teacher in the fourth grade who nearly broke me. I learned so much from you all.

Finally, I dedicate this book to all of YOU. Whether you have A.D.D. or someone close to you is struggling to learn how to use this gift, this is for you. It is my sincerest desire that it helps you, encourages you, and inspires you. Thank you for reading.

    Introduction

Hello, my name is Ava. I was diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder in 1985 at the age of ten. With 28 years and counting of experience day in and day out under my belt, I would like to share with you my unique story and perspective on Attention Deficit Disorder.

I don't have any letters behind my name. I haven't spent years researching and experimenting to learn more about A.D.D. I am qualified only by my personal relationship with this disorder, and how it has impacted my life both positively and negatively.

This story goes in depth about my history from childhood to the present. Much of the back story may be too much if you do have A.D.D. If you want to skip the history and go straight to the details of how I learned to deal with Attention Deficit Disorder, and why I consider it a gift, skip to Chapter 9.

I tell this story for you, the A.D.D. individual. I tell it for you, the parent or relative of an A.D.D. child. It's a story of positivity, encouragement and inspiration. I tell it because if it helps one person, then I have helped us all.
