    By 2011, I had been “put through the wringer” by my alcoholism. When I was finally able to get sober, I felt like I came out of a dark tunnel after years of being lost. I was finally able to stay sober and sane. Finally, the despair, confusion, and frightening events were over!

    Unfortunately, when you’re an alcoholic, nothing is ever really over. You don’t just find sobriety and then “get over it”. It’s something you have to constantly work on. In this book, I help you figure out how to work on your continuous sobriety.

    Alcohol is always going to be there, readily available. We can’t escape it or hide from it. It’s sold at convenience stores, grocery stores, sporting events, concerts, and more. I even recently saw a bar at the local shopping mall, in the food court. Alcohol is always there, and it’s not going anywhere. I don’t mean to sound dramatic, but we need to coexist, or we'll cease to exist.

    This book contains a few of the lessons I’ve learned in the past few years. I will be speaking about issues that I encountered, what I did to solve those issues, and what has changed since I’ve become sober for the long-term. There is also a Q&A section at the end with 20 of the questions I’m most frequently asked, and the answers I have for those questions.

    I share these experiences with the hope to help others avoid some of the mistakes I made, and to support you in your long-term sobriety goals.
