      Prologue

      Wunder lives in a time where infection is causing chaos, death and destruction all over the world. She fight’s along with many others to help save the human race. She also personally has experience with the infection for she’s one quarter zombie. How is that possible you ask? Well her mother was bitten by a zombie while carrying Wunder in her womb. Is it a curse or a gift?

      Jasmine, Wunder’s mom actually gave birth to Wunder shortly after having been bitten by an infected. Not many know about any of this, many think Jasmine was bitten right after having birthed Wunder, just an assumption on everyone’s part which Lance, Wunder’s Dad felt best left as is to keep Wunder safe and able to live a, somewhat, normal life.

      Jasmine and Lance have always feared that once RIP found out about Wunder’s special abilities, her…difference. All they’d do is poke and prod at her like they do with all infected they capture and hold for testing. They both believe continuing to hold back Wunder’s secret is for the best, but is it really?

      Can Wunder’s secret continue to be kept while trying to save the world? Can it be kept safely, without bringing harm to her or others?

      Another question is…Can Pete’s secret be kept?

      He’s in the same special category as Wunder, different by human standards. With the exception of his only surviving family member being his Uncle, Mike. His uncle and himself the only two knowing he was born with the same high protein carrying cells flowing through his body, giving him the strength of five men and other…special talents, very similar to the same ones as Wunder has.

      Now, Wunder and Pete fight the infected along with their friend and team member Tank. They’re out to help stop the spread of the infection and help save the world before all humans are gone. They all use the skills learned through in-depth training which started from when they were very young.

      Pete and Wunder even more so, since they have the powers and strength they both had to keep hidden from all but few. They use what they are only for good, to battle side by side with humans to try and rid the world of this nuisance, this widely spread infection and constant death.

      They’ve both been through a lot in their lives. Most recently, Wunder found out her mother is alive and…well not perfectly well, but alive and aware. Much better than believing her mother was gone forever.

      Pete and Wunder being together is a ‘new thing’. Having dreamt of one another for years and never knowing why. Neither of them has had the time to fully absorb…anything, yet. They’re both too busy trying to keep these infected under control and help RIP keep the town’s people safe. Now as a team and with their first mission as a trio, to capture the zombie 776, the most frightening infected any have ever faced. They need to bring back this infected monster as RIP’s prisoner, in one piece or destroy him, so they can all get back to the basics of their lives.

      776 has wreaked havoc like no other infected in history. He destroyed all blood samples from other infected used for research and has killed almost everyone in its path. Strangest thing, the only ones he left alive Wunder’s parents and a few scientists. Question is, why?

      CHAPTER ONE

      ***Pete***

      I can’t help but think about how after all of the years of waiting for the woman of my dreams—the one woman, who has claimed me, kept me sane and makes me feel…whole. These many years of only dreams, my mind’s way of showing me my one soul mate and now I have finally found her. Actually being able to hold her, have her, taste her…I, at this moment feel as if this amazing reality, so short lived, is being swept away from me and I’m not liking it one single bit. I want more than just the brief and amazing first time we had. I want to give her romance, show her what she means to me with actions as well as words.

      We’ve not been alone or able to talk, get to know one another as couples should since we’ve consummated our…bond. Oh, what a night it was! It’s been one thing after another since that night at the club, that amazing meeting of souls that currently feels so long ago, yet it’s not been long at all.

      We’re so fucking incredible together, in every way a couple should be. Even more than I thought possible when I thought of her as real through the years. Our bodies are so attuned to one another. It’s as if they call out and sing a song only our physical forms can hear. I know…I know. It sounds strange, corny even but it’s the only way I can think of to express the feelings and perfection that is us.

      She’s tough, sexy as hell, loyal, loving and just absolute perfection in my eyes. I’d swear she was made just for me and only me! My mate, the filler that soothes the empty places within me. My woman, a woman I plan to enjoy, in every way possible. For the rest of my life.

      I won’t tell her all of this yet. Not just yet.

      I don’t want to take any chances of frightening her away or jumping the gun. Even though we’ve been on the same page from the first moment we touched with pretty much everything. I’d rather proceed naturally. Let it flow out, instead of over thinking it as I currently am, shit!

      Stop right now Pete!

      I guess I’m afraid of losing her. My uncle is the only person that has been in my life that means anything to me—holds a piece of my heart, is my family. That’s with the exception of Wunder. This is all new to me, the sex, the feelings of love, the desire to be near her every moment I breathe and the emptiness I feel when she walks out of the room. All of it, foreign to me and I don’t want to fuck it up.

      After we’re done with this mission. I plan to worship every single inch of her body. Showing her how I feel with no words, only actions. I know she’s a woman of action and will appreciate such a full bodied adoring session. Maybe that’ll help ease these feelings of unease currently within me.

      It sucks we have to wait even a minute longer to be alone again. I know I sound like a selfish prig. Can you blame me? I’m a greedy, selfish and hungry when it comes to her. This is the woman I’ve longed for practically my entire life and I want every single moment with her that I can have. I never thought the day would come when I’d dislike my job as much as I do since I met Wunder.

      This is our job, our lives. We save people and help to keep things, the local infected, under control. It would be nice if things quieted down for a few days, a week maybe. Some time to just enjoy the company of another you want to be with, get out the years and years of pent up sexual frustrations in the very best of ways. To live and reenact our dreams, the dreams we’ve both shared many times over.

      I’d bet my favorite gun Wunder feels the same way I do. Well, at least she would if Jasmine and Lance weren’t currently sitting in the RIP facility, having been injured by 776 and if we didn’t have this current mission.

      Wow, thinking about it makes me realize even more about this special lady of mine. She’s tough; I’m not just talking physically tough. Yeah, she kicks ass. But I also mean mentally, spiritually and emotionally. She has a beauty that no other being in the universe can hold a candle to. She has a heart that beats for many, a quality that makes me love her even more. She also has some serious focus that puts me and everyone else I know to shame. I’m sure there’s much more to her than all that. I’ll be finding it all out soon enough!

      Giving my head a slight shake and along with a metal kick in the ass for being such an ass, I think about Wunder’s parents and how they have both been through a ton of shit in their lives. Much more than I’m aware of I’m sure. They’ve been going strong for many years; their love for one another is basically tattooed in their eyes. If they can still
