About this ebook

Left to the shifting sands for dead, fate has chosen a different course for the men exiled to the remorseless desert’s nightfall. Retracing the steps of events among the living, a new perspective is given to the moment of wakening for one of the two men rescued and brought to the thriving, cavern village of Shejnal.

There, in the safe of the deep dark, the monstrous divine being bearing rich, purple skin and a seemingly endless half-snake body – Najae Noc’teria, surrounded by other lamia sharing in her image – will rekindle the flame of life and lust within the waking man, binding him in her endless coil for the long night to come.

Leona D. Reish

From demons to monsters and demi-human monster girls, Leona D. Reish draws from the paranormal, myth and fantasy to create otherworldly stories of sweet corruption, divine machination and the most unlikely romances. It is here, beyond the odd vampire and werewolf, that you’ll touch tales of tails from deeper into the realms of fantasy. From lamiae and arachnes to other powerful undead and divine rulers, behind every face lies familiar desires and vulnerable hearts. Not every story is set in such high fantasy, however, as more grounded contemporary and even historic tales have been written in which more domestic taboos and powers are often revelled in. Throughout them all Leona brings an understanding of the delicacy and romance underlying darker kinks and fetishes to present the most erotic escapes to realms that can – and often should – only exist by the blessing of books and the support of avid readers. To this day Leona fights all the world’s evils within her mind to strive to bring you more great content. If you’ve enjoyed what she does and want to see more, consider following her profile and showing your support on social media where comments are always appreciated and help reinforce that the audience is really there.

    Nightfall

Bordering the desolate sands of the Zo’qeth desert stands tall, jagged mountains, sheltering the arid land from the ocean beyond. In the late of day, it is said the tall peaks seem to reach for and devour the sun in its sky. Deep within those mountains, reaches beyond where the light of day graces the land, amongst the dark and discordant, life flourishes unabated, sheltered from the unforgiving heat above. Within those ruinous caverns carved by time alone, water flows through the heart of the mountains like a lifeblood, seeping out through the land to bleed into the endless sands.

The banks of these rivers thrum with incandescence borne of the fauna and rock, filling the never-ending channels with a magical ambience. It was down one such river that a simple boat drifted, a merry jaunt of a whistle echoing off the jagged walls to create an eerie reverberation to its tune. Ferrying down the dark passage, an unlikely pair.

Will you shut that flaming whiffle-hole already? Bad enough you being tone-deaf without the walls to bounce it back, but you’ll call the damned Zubaj down on us if you don’t cut it. Gnarled and angry was the default look for Yannis, stocky, bald and weary to the world beyond the dark. In the low light of the river, the scarred marks that left him less than flattering lay cloaked in compassionate shadow.

What? They don’t come down here though, do they? His younger, spindlier compatriot had at least ceased whistling, but turned around in the small boat, waving the softly glowing blue-lit lantern around to illuminate the other man. Only one eye twitched as Yannis spat over the side, steadying the boat’s course with steady strokes of a paddle.

And where in hells else would they go, vanish to the void? As though a ludicrous suggestion, a shrieking cackle pierced overhead, filling it with a wave of high-pitched laughter as a cloud of darkness fluttered and washed overhead. Markoth had all but doubled over and hit the deck of the boat, hiding the lamp against his chest. Once the mocking tone passed into a distant, ebbing reminder of his folly, the spooked man slowly raised his head.

Was that... but I thought they were just nightmares? Markoth put forward, cautiously holding the lantern much more dearly as he tried to pierce the veil of blackness that held firm more than a few feet in either direction. Yannis laughed a crass, humourless tone.

Hah, that were just bats ye damn sap. Zubaj would have torn you apart before you had bearings to be afraid. Nightmares in the desert night outside y’er cosy little cave hole are plenty real though. You’d do well to not invite them in. The older man’s tone grew less whimsical with each passing word, until Markoth was more than aware that he wasn’t joking or making things up to frighten him, and dutifully kept the whistling tune to himself as he sat back down.

So why are people out if it’s so dangerous? He asked instead, his voice lower and calmer as he glanced back to the elder man, who smirked and shook his head wearily. With both a darker complexion, sunken eyes and a haggard, haunted look, he was nothing like the younger and paler light-bearer keeping the man company.

"Because we don’t all birth hidden from the sky you flaming rock-head. Most hunt for beasts, good for food, oils, skins, you name it but they don’t breed and live down in the
