About this ebook
Why ever did we listen when the "experts" told an entire generation that multi-tasking was the answer. It never made us more efficient, quite the opposite. What it did was give the permission many people were seeking, to live in a permanent state of inefficiency and confusion--a place where mistakes are habitually glossed over while a few major accomplishments are praised. The moment of re-training has now arrived.
My proposal involves a relaxed and quiet approach which hinges upon several solid and well-proven secrets for use in developing a high level of focus in your life.
Open the door, now, and allow yourself to become efficient, organized, and productive in all phases of your personal life and business career.

Raised in South Florida and presently residing on the island of Hawai'i, Donna was a former university professor and fashion designer. It was her extensive travel which began at a very young age that created an intense interest in multi-national culture, eventually leading to a Master of International Business Administration (MIBA) degree - providing the entry to a career as a professor of international business. Donna's belief that we are all here on this beautiful planet to experience life lessons and be of assistance to others as they travel their "spiritual road" through life led her to become a successful author. She has completed the first part of her commitment to the Divine to do his work in our world today with the six-book series, "Mind, Body, and Spirit." The second half of that promise is sure to include both private and public speaking engagements and continued international travel. In the future, Donna looks forward to enjoying her well-established active outdoor lifestyle featuring "open water" swimming and outrigger canoe paddling. Her path has been an exciting and very fulfilling one and she plans to keep generously sharing her "gifts" with others as long as she lives. As Donna says, "This is a guarantee..."

Is the ball on the table or off the table,
the operator asked? I could see the ball transcending to the floor. The slides were being flashed faster and faster as the woman administering the test was becoming more and more irritated with me.
I could see the procession of the red ball and recounted the exact
position each time I was asked. I observed this transition from table to floor perfectly. After I reported the positions, the operator ended my second grade eye test abruptly. There was great annoyance in her voice as she said, I am definitely recommending glasses. You can’t see! The school will call your mother to schedule an appointment with the optometrist.
Apparently, the correct answer to the eye test was a simple on
or off.
I failed the test by focusing on the exact location and informing the operator. I realize now that I was able to see the energy trail of the ball because the slides were moving so rapidly—thus skewing the expected answer.
My mother was told that my eyesight was very poor and given the name of a local optometrist to verify my sight impairment.
When I came home that same afternoon Mom sat me down and asked, Donna, are you having a problem reading or seeing things?
I replied, No Mom, I can see perfectly.
I continued on with my version of the story, I saw the red ball moving and told the lady where it was as it moved. She got mad at me and kept saying—on or off the table. Finally, the lady said—you can’t see, I am recommending glasses.
No, I never got those glasses in second grade and I still do not require any. My eyesight and my focus are perfect. I just see a little differently than others...

I dedicate this book to my brother, Shane F.G. Vernon

...and then one day we are just ready to move on. There is no sign from on high—the day arrives without fanfare. You just know in your heart and your mind that you gave as much as you could, did your best, and made the decisions that were necessary at the time. You box up and walk away to a new life in a new location with new people and again—do the best that you possibly can.
This time you arrive from a place of maturity, experience, and love. The love from the Divine and much aloha from others to whom you gave a comforting or encouraging word that changed the direction of their lives in an instant...

Today is a very special day in my life. It is the day my brother boards a plane for the mainland in order to re-start his career and his life.
Shane has sacrificed four years in order to help me recreate my world. Our journey has taken him from his desert retreat in Sedona, Arizona halfway around the world to Perth, Australia, where he deposited me—finally moving us both to the island of Hawai’i where he watched over me as I focused and began duel careers of author and artist.
What surprises are in store for him on his continued travels, I cannot say. But I do know that he leaves our island with my gratitude for past help and fondest wishes for an amazing future.
I love you Shane.

Your sister,
Preface
––––––––
I first began my interest in focus when I attended a private spiritual awakening
class with my mother and brother. This class was conceptualized by a woman named Cynthia which hailed from Trinidad. She was an executive with IBM in Boca Raton, FL and taught these small classes out of her home as her gift to humanity.
The classes consisted of six sessions and each one began with a short lecture and then proceeded on to drawing assignments and mind exercises. Homework was an expected part of the learning and we were individually assessed twice in the six week period.
For the first, and to me the most interesting project, we were asked to draw a perfect circle (approximately 2 in diameter) in the center of a piece of white 3
X 5 paper. Next, came four triangles (each having 4
sides and a 4 base) to be drawn on four separate sheets of white 8 ½
X 11" paper. We were directed to color in the circle with a black marker and were handed red, green, yellow, and blue markers (one marker for each of our four triangles).
Then came the real fun.
We were to focus on our black circle for a few minutes and once we had demonstrated a sufficient attention span (without breaking off for distractions) we moved on to the triangle exercise.
The red triangle came first. The directions were to focus on it and then after a few seconds project that triangle onto a nearby white wall (in a dimly lit room) and tell Cynthia what color the secondary (projected triangle) became. At this exercise, I excelled.
In short order I exclaimed, "Cynthia, on the wall the red triangle is green, the green triangle is red, the yellow triangle is blue and the blue triangle is yellow!"
Cynthia only had one thing to say, Donna, that was amazing. I can’t wait to see how you do on the other exercises.
I now believe that it was a direct result of this class that my psychic and spiritual ability was awakened and with those two, my ability to focus.

My goal in the writing of this book is to impart every one of the secrets I have learned on the very timely subject of focus.
If everyone’s ready, we will begin...
Introduction
––––––––
Focus requires a clear mind and a pure heart. These are the only rules.
One cannot build a foundation for focus if anxiety has become a way of life. It is the art of relaxation that brings about the skill of focus.
Living in a resort area of Hawai’i, I am offered daily a bird’s eye view of the results of a stressful life and the remedy or unwinding process. When any of us first come to the island (visitor or new resident) we are wound tighter than a cheap, Chinese watch
to quote my brother, Shane. At first, we speak too loudly and move too quickly—a hyper-state that transforms to a slower pace as the energy of our island permeates one’s very soul.
This elixir of peace is present in the water and the locally grown food. Just a quick nature walk or a swim in any of our beautiful bays is guaranteed to leave anyone with a lingering feeling of bliss.
No, a Hawaiian vacation is not necessary in order to perform this de-stressing miracle. It is possible to stay exactly where you are...
The real objective is to put yourself first, for
