Introduction

Mike – I’m not sure who brought up the idea first, me or Melisa, but I do remember laughing a lot at the thought of writing Just the Tip. The original idea was to interview men as candidly as possible about what they love and don’t love about sex. We originally had the ambitious goal of interviewing 25 guys each, but we quickly found out what a nightmare that was! You wouldn't believe how incredibly hard it is to nail guys down for interviews. Part of it was they were nervous to go on the record so candidly but usually it was just plain flakiness. So we had to whittle things down to 15 interviews each which still took an incredible amount of time and effort to complete. But as you will see, it was worth it and you get a lot of gold here.

Melisa - Being an avid fan of sex myself, I couldn’t think of a better topic to cover. I’ve always had an intense curiosity when it comes to human sexuality and have taken courses in college just so I could learn more about this very subject. When Mike and I first started discussing the idea for this book I couldn’t think of anyone I would rather go on this journey with. I was intrigued by the dual points of view and eager to see how these interviews would play out. As you will easily notice, the demeanors and reactions of the men being interviewed vary greatly depending on who is conducting the interview. This in itself is almost as telling as the content being discussed.

Mike - Just a quick note about the title of this book. I have always said on my blog and in my books that men and women are essentially the same all over the world. This was backed up in a very funny way when I lived in Japan ages ago. While learning the language I was conversing with a Japanese guy friend who told me a bit about the girl he was with the night before. Apparently, she was a virgin and my friend was very keen to take that virginity. He told me that he said to her many times, saki cho dake but she just wasn’t having it. What did that mean? You guessed it, Just the tip.

Why is this a revelation? Because men say the same goddamn thing all over the world! This same expression I have heard in Russian, French, Vietnamese, etc. Makes me wonder what female expressions are shared among cultures.

Melisa - While off hand I can’t really think of any universal female expression other than no I feel the title Just the Tip fits perfectly. I wish I had come up with it but I’m not at all surprised that it was Mike who did. He is, after all, a guy and therefore most likely to employ the use of this term whenever the need should arise.

Now a little about the structure of this book. Just the Tip is woven together by alternating interviews done by myself and those done by Mike. While the topic at hand remains consistent, the points of view do not.

Mike - Just a warning to the ladies reading. These are very candid interviews. Some of these guys you won’t like and some you will love. That really isn’t the point though. The point is about sex and what does it for a man? What blows his mind sexually and what makes him want to run screaming to his porn collection. What you will find here is that there are a lot of sexual triggers that all men share, and a lot of men are very different in their needs which I didn’t expect. So before you go ramming an index finger up his backside looking for his prostate, I suggest reading this book first.

So lets get started! The stage is yours, Melisa.

Melisa - Al 01

Al was a 52 year old touring concert audio engineer. He was divorced and seemed to be enjoying the life of someone who spent as many days on the road as at home. He was a straightforward man who appeared to have a simple and basic appreciation for all types of women.

He also lived in Ohio Amish Country which I found to be intriguing. I’d always wanted to visit a place where horse and buggies were commonplace and girls in dresses played volleyball. Oh wait, that was the Bahamas. I’d always wanted to visit the Bahamas.

Tell me about the women you are attracted to. You must come across all types being on the road as much as you are.

I love thick woman, a beautiful mouth and eyes on a woman. I am an ass man, as well. I also love intelligence, drive, forward thinking, and a great kisser.

What types of women do you try to stay away from?

Women who aren’t informed about the world, smokers, poor kissers, and those with bad breath.

Can you share with me about an amazing sexual encounter you’ve had?

Well, I have had a lot of great sexual experiences since I grew up working in the rave scene. The best was with two beautiful roommates; one black, one white, who I hung out with a lot at the club where I was a house DJ. Mike - Balls sucked? Really? Ladies, imagine someone squeezing your breasts as hard as they can, now double the pain times ten and add debilitating nausea.
