God Why Am I Still Single? - R. Renee
To My Readers
This book is a work of inspiration from the Most High. I didn’t choose the subject. It chose me. I know from personal experience that an inspirational idea is a message from God he wants delivered to his people. In this case I have accepted the role of messenger, and I am delivering a message to single black women. What’s the message? You deserve (and will receive) the best man (husband) God has for you.
The purpose of this book is to offer you spiritual guidance, encouragement and insights regarding your prayer for a husband. I know you’ve prayed...and waited...and prayed...and waited...and still the man of your dreams has not arrived. And maybe you’re all prayed out
and asking God Why Am I Still Single?
In this book I’m answering that million dollar question.
I’m not a spiritual or relationship guru. I don’t have all the answers. But I do have a few – nine to be exact. In short, this book explains the common reasons why your husband has not arrived and offers suggestions on what you can do about it.
Essentially, the nine answers are ways you may be blocking your own blessing. Yep, we sometimes get in God’s way – and our own way. A few of the answers may sound familiar. Use them as reminders for who you are and whose you are. Sometimes we must be reminded of the power of God and what he’s already done for us. There are other answers that may give you the a-ha moment
or have you saying, I never looked at it that way.
Each chapter offers relevant biblical scriptures, guidance that is both spiritual and practical, reality checks offering little doses of tough love, wisdom pearls, and a prayer closet to help you pray more effectively.
Will you finally meet Mr. Right after reading this book? Well, the Bible makes this clear: "If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you (John 15:7)." As long as you know God’s word never fails and you accept the fact that he wants to give you the best that life has to offer, you can ask for and receive what you pray for, including a husband. Sista, you deserve to have the right man in your life, who can love you the right way. God has done it for other women, and what God has done them he will do for you – and more!
Peace & Blessings,
R. Renee
Answer 1
You Ask Amiss
––––––––
When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.
James 4:3 (NIV)
In the scripture above James is speaking to fellow believers who desired money and didn’t receive it because they would spend it unwisely. There was nothing wrong with them wanting the money, but the motive for wanting it was wrong. James 4:3 teaches us two important things about prayer. One, there is a motive behind every prayer. Two, a prayer backed by the wrong motive doesn’t get answered. Motives are important because it is the Why
behind your prayer. You must be clear about your motive because your motive determines how God will answer your prayer for a husband.
Weighing Your Motives
To man belong the plans of the heart, but from the LORD comes the reply of the tongue. All a man's ways seem innocent to him, but motives are weighed by the LORD. Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.
Proverbs 16:1-3
Essentially, all prayers boil down to this one thing: you’re seeking a solution to a problem. In many cases a motive is a problem in disguise. Proverbs 16:1-3 states motives are weighed by the Lord. In other words, when God weighs your motives he is determining whether what you’re praying for will be the solution to your problem.
You may be praying for a husband because you believe having a husband is the solution to a problem you have. For example, praying for a husband because you’re lonely. Your motive (or problem) is loneliness and you think having a husband will solve that problem. This is a prime example of what proverbs 16:1-3 means when it says "To man belong the plans of the heart" and All a man's ways seem innocent to him.
In other words, we sometimes come up with what we think is the solution to our problem and then pray for God to send us that solution. Praying for a husband because you’re lonely seems like the right thing to do, but is it?
God must weigh your motive. Basically, it boils down to
