    A former film critic for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Alex Carter's new passion is writing science fiction and fantasy. When Alex was born in 1984, some of the worst movies known to man were in theaters. "I mean, Gremlins? Karate Kid? What were they thinking?" He would often ask himself this when his own sons would beg to watch those movies over and over again. Though he used to spend his time critiquing films, he recently found his true calling: fiction writing. Specifically, science fiction and fantasy. With a pen to paper, Alex enjoys crafting strange or unique worlds. They're not perfect worlds, but they are certainly fantastic even with the grime and dirt on them. Outside of work, Alex likes fixing up his white 1974 Pontiac GTO, and dreams of one day owning an Alfa Romeo 8C 2300. His wife calls him "The Archivist" because he has over 530 films in his physical and digital collections. He wears the title like a badge of honor, and hopes to grow his collection every year. He has a "recommended viewing" list for his sons that absolutely does not include Gremlins or Karate Kid.
