1. A Cat Named Max Finds a Cup of Milk.
––––––––
There are so many reasons why I love cats. However; the truth is that, not everyone loves to take very good care of their cats like I take care of my cat. I most times wish I could have all the cats in the world in my home but mom won't allow that so I just have one cat. I always go to the park on Saturdays with Jimmy my best friend to play and most times with both our families for a picnic. For the past 4 months, I have always been noticing a cat walking by with Mr. Campbell and it stares at me so much I just can't help but to know more about it.
––––––––
Mr. Campbell is one of the very few old men in our area who has lived almost all his life there. He is a very friendly man but I have never talked with him for more than a minute. I always heard him talk to a Max whenever I passed by his house in the morning but I wondered who the Max was because we all know he lived alone. It's November and the whole area is so excited about Christmas approaching. However; Mr. Campbell does not seem to be so excited about Christmas.
Yesterday for the very first time, my basketball fell into his yard and although I was scared, I rang his bell and tried to use this moment as an opportunity to know him and Max who I didn't know about.
Mr. Campbell opened the door only for me to find him smiling with my basketball at the gate. I apologized and he said I should not worry. He gave me my ball and turned to go when I stopped and asked him if I could come in and play with Max. I didn't know who Max was and that was exactly what I needed to find out. Mr. Campbell smiled and called Max. Yes, that was when I realized the malnurished looking cat that starred at me in the park was Max.
I smiled when Max approached and asked Mr. Campbell why he named it Max. He then invited me to sit and told me a long story about how he met Max and how Max became his cat. He said he saved Max from a car accident on one of his trips to the next city when he was 24 years old and brought him and since then, Max has been his cat. I smiled at Mr. Campbell because; I was very happy he loved cats like I also do. However; I was wondering why Max was looking so skinny and malnurished. So, I asked him what food Max eats.
He gave me a long list but surprisingly there was no milk. I was very surprised but I guess I now understood why Max looked so unhealthy and tired all the time. Mr. Campbell told me about himsellf and Max. He said, he has 4 children whom are all female and not home because they were married and living with their families.
He looked very sad when he talked about his family so I decided to give him a surprise. As the days went on, I continued to visit Mr. Campbell first alone then later on started visiting with my friend Jimmy. I was able to find the phone numbers of all his daughthers in a diary near the telephone
