About this ebook
Two years after being left behind in Boston, Bree Whitely still cannot deal with the shattered pieces of the life she once had with her partner. With encouragement from her uncle, she returns home to Asheville to rebuild her life. But it’s going to take more than a change of scenery to mend her heart.
Carson Harper has spent her life pursuing her career and her women. But lately, she feels that something is always missing and physical fulfillment may no longer be enough. When life wraps what she seeks within the wounded heart of another, what will she do for love knowing she could lose it all in the end?
Bree and Carson have the chance to find love if they can give up the lives they had planned for the one they were meant to live.
Tina Michele
Tina Michele is a Florida girl living on the banks of the Indian River Lagoon in the biggest small town on the Space Coast. She enjoys all the benefits of living in the Sunshine State. During the day, she pretends to do what they pay her for but really spends most of that time daydreaming and plotting some wild adventure. She graduated from the University of Central Florida with her BA in interdisciplinary studies—the most liberal of the liberal arts degrees—majoring in fine art and writing with a minor in women’s studies. To say she is motivated by her Right brain is a major understatement. Afflicted with self-diagnosed Sagittarian Attention Deficit Disorder, she spends a lot of time starting projects that she may, possibly, one day, probably finish. When she isn’t writing, playing, drawing, painting, or creating something of some sort, she feeds and waters the three dogs that are permanently tethered to her hindquarters.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This book starts with the character of Bree in Boston. She's still trying to get over the break up with her wife Marion. She's also trying her best to move forward, going home to North Carolina and her Uncle Jim (who also raised her) is the first part of the plan. The next parts of her plan then rely on her focusing on her work (as a historical restorer of stuff). She hopes to get a job at the Biltmore Estate, doing just that, restoring the parts of it that aren't yet done. Then Carson, her uncle's best friend and already on the the restoration staff appears in her life, repeatedly, and they don't totally get on well at first. Of course that changes slowly as the two women get pulled to one another, with some not surprising, but very dramatic twists in their story. That was part of the novel that I didn't particularly like. There was so much strife in the story, especially at the beginning. It made it so tiring to read. And honestly I think that I liked the Barbara/Jim story line better than the Carson Bree one, and would have loved to see more of it.Not to be a total downer though (and I did give this book three stars for a reason, not two). There were two things that I really liked about the book. Firstly, the characters were all well done and unique. And secondly the description of the Biltmore Estate just made me feel like I was there (I've never been there). It wasn't that it was super nitpicky specific, but from what was on the page I got how it feels perhaps to be there? It was well done.I got this advanced galley through Netgalley on behalf of Bold Strokes Books.
