      Family

      Angelina Jolie was born in Los Angeles on June 4, 1975, as Angelina Jolie Voight from her actor parents Jon Voight (winner of an Oscar) and Marcheline Bertrand. Her debut on the small screen took place in childhood, with her father Jon Voight in 1982, but her acting career did not start until ten years later. The movie was entitled Looking to get out and, even if it remained in the fog of world cinematography, or at least American, it have determined her parents to take seriously into consideration their daughter's acting potential.

      Her grandparents were French-Canadian and her paternal grandfather was from Czechoslovakia. So she is Czech and English from her father's side and French-Canadian from her mother's side. Her parents were separated in 1976, and the two brothers (Angelina and James) were raised by their mother, who moved to New York. Angelina turned away from her father, especially because of his infidelity that caused the family breakup, though a reconciliation was attempted in the appearance of the father and daughter in Lara Croft: Tomb Rider.
