FOREWORD
Indeed and of a truth, the change is possible. This young writer proved it. Adeoba practically took us through the dynamics, beauty and essence of change which is fore-ran by vision- the mental picture of the preferred future and the belief in it. He took his time to school us on what must be done if our visions must materialize in the physical realm and seriously I am of the belief that African leaders need to listen to young minds like Ade, just as old men of old listened to the teenage Jesus because they were held spellbound by the magnitude of wisdom gushing out of his vocals.
I usually rejoice whenever the topic 'Vision' is discussed ever since I discovered that no great stride has ever been taken by anyone under the sun without first picturing that preferred future, because what you cannot see you are not permitted to have. Much more is my joy when I find someone who not only knows the subject matter of vision, but also understands how to work that picture which the eyes of the mind sees until it becomes obvious in the material world so much that everyone can see, as history captures it as a legend to be studied by generations. I can say that Adeoba falls into that category of the crop of few individuals.
I congratulate you young minds across campuses and beyond, because you have been blessed with a gem like Adeoba- do not let him pass you by without hearing from him. That's one of your own Jesus sent to prepare you for the real world, so that you may have an idea of how it runs. I join the author in saying one more time that the 'Change Is Possible!’

INTRODUCTION
The journey through history is a journey of change. Different people at the different time in history changed our world both positively and negatively. We are more acquainted with those who changed the world positively because they made the world better than they met it. They changed history because they made themselves available as an instrument of positive change. Now, it is your time to also change the world for better because that is what you were created for and why you are created.
This book is not only a cure to degeneration, which Africa and some other continents are suffering from, it is a book for individuals who want changes in their lives and it is also a book that will change individuals that will in turn change the world for better.
We all need changes though the course of changes that people, countries and continents need may differ. I am very sure that we all still need change(s) and I want to tell you optimistically that the change is possible. Change is inevitable. Change is the only permanent thing. We can't run away from it as man can't run away from planet earth if he still wants to be alive.
Africa progressive’s change rest on the shoulder of each and every one of us and until we change for better, we cannot experience any positive change. That is why this book has been written to challenge you to rise up for a change because you and I are the change agents the world and Africa has been waiting for.
The man that will move the world must first move himself because the world moves for the man who moves. We have the responsibility to make things better for future generations and to contribute our quota to the positive change Africa has been anticipating a long time ago.
We are not backward as a continent because the colour of our skin is black, we are because we have abandoned the path to progressive change to the course of mediocrity; and the only solution to our misfortunes which is self induced is to rise up from our slumber to take our destiny in our hands by abandoning the decision to be backward and make a new resolution to move forward and pursue a progressive change for ourselves and future generations.
Change is an inexorable law and as a natural law, it can't be broken. The law that governs change can never be broken or prevented from operation. Your determination to meet the challenges of change and conquer them is what will make you a change agent. I don't think there has ever been any man whose footprints was preserved by history for posterity to see just because he only lived. Those whose footprints were preserved were people who made remarkable changes and impacted the world positively.
It is true that we may not be able to change our past but we can rise up and be determined to change our future by putting the principles you will learn in this book into practice. I believe the change is possible, yes we can!

THE BEGINNING
If you think you are beaten, you are
If you think you dare not, you don't
If you'd like to win, but you think you can't
It is almost certain that you won't
If you think you lose, you have lost
For out of the world we find
Success begins with a person's will
It's all in the state of mind
If you think you are outclassed, you are
You've got to think high to rise
You've got to be sure of yourself before
You can ever win a prize
Life's battles don't always go
To the stronger or faster man
But soon or late the man who wins
Is the one who THINKS HE CAN

Chapter 1: POWER OF VISION
Those who cherish beautiful visions, lofty ideas in their hearts, will one day realise them
. - James Allen
Socrates, Aristotle, Albeit Einstein, Nelson Mandela, Eleanor Roosevelt, Rosa Park, Martin Luther King Jr., Obafemi Awolowo, Marie Curie, Mahatma Gandhi, Abraham Lincoln, J.F. Kennedy, and Winston Churchill are only few of great people who wrought great changes that the world will never forget in her history.
These great men and women made the world better than they met it. They gave everything within them to make tremendous impact in the history of man, and the world will forever be grateful to God for sending such great people to make the world a better place. If the change was possible in their time, no doubt it is also possible now and it is high time we started the journey for the change.
That the change is possible is a truth known to every individual both far and near, male and female, old and young, but it is very unfortunate that it is not everybody who believes it and the main reason for this is that many people can't really envisage the great future ahead of us. Life has become paranoid to many people who have never in any time seen the good part and the tremendous riches and blessings that life is always willing to offer any man that can demand for it and at the same is time ready to pay the price it will demand.
No doubt, every change requires a price and sacrifice. Many people have not discovered the power of vision let alone taping into it. No doubt Africa as a continent has remained in darkness for so long and there is no one to blame for our misfortunes and problems except ourselves. We are down not because we are pushed; we are because we have decided to stay there.
We are where we are today because an average African person is so pessimistic that he can't envisage a great day ahead let alone working towards it. Our society has turned into what sociologists call Risk Society and not because of negative effects of technology in this sense but because of lack of visions and I think there is need for immediate change.
Change is an inexorable law and as a natural law, it can't be broken. The law that governs change can never be broken or prevented from operation. Your success to meet the challenges of change and conquer them is what will make you a change agent.
As it has been said in the introduction, I don't think there has ever been any man whose footprints were preserved in history for posterity to see just because he lived a life that was totally free from problems and challenges. You can never be recognised by history if you have not conquered worthwhile challenges. You must never see challenges of change as a misfortune but as fortune if you are ever going to conquer them. The power of vision is unlimited and it is the high time we began to tap into it if Africa and the world at large are ever going to experience any positive change again.
A lot of people are so engrossed in problems of their present situation that they have allowed their belief system to change from an atmosphere of optimism to pessimism. A lot of people have abandoned the path of peace and calmness of mind that our forefathers left for us as a gift to living a life of trouble. Countless number of people move from one place to another with minds that never know peace or serenity.
Millions of people in our generation live in fear, believing that they have no control or power over life intricacies. This wrong belief has destroyed the power that our vision is endowed with. Many people are jeopardised by being too pessimistic in situations in which they are meant to be optimistic.
Many times life has abased us in many ways because we refuse to believe that the change we have always been hoping for is possible if only we can have the vision of the change clearly in our minds. Change is something that we can't run away from. We can't do without it. Either the world likes it or not, changes must occur at different times in history and the changes can only be made possible by individuals who have clearly envisaged the changes ahead of others. We can't run away from change; the only thing we can do is to prepare ourselves in advance for the change so that the change will not catch us unaware.
We cannot continue to abdicate our responsibility and still expect the change to come through us. One of the responsibilities we must not joke with is creating the visions of the change that we want to see. The man that will move the world must first move himself because the world moves for the man who moves
You can abnegate the change but you can't prevent it from happening. A lot of people have decided to help others acculturate successfully in different places knowing quite well that to live successfully and succeed in any alien nation, individuals must first adapt themselves to the new change around them. We must be humble enough to adapt to the progressive change that Africa and the world will sooner or later experience. This change will come in two forms; we must welcome the progressive change and resist the destructive change. The change in the world is what we can't do without accustoming ourselves to. We may try to run from the change but our effort will be fruitless.
VISIONS PROPEL THE CHANGE
One of the virtues that a man who wants to be a change agent must possess is ability to visualise great things and a great future ahead of him. No man can make any change possible by living a life of mediocrity. The man that will change the world must first change himself. A man that will be a change agent must be a man who doesn't joke with his visions because it is only a man who has thoroughly been changed by his visions that can change the world. In fact, to make a great change in the world, you must be a great visionary.
When a man does not have dreams and visions that he is trying to achieve, he will suffer an unutterable loss in the journey of life. To live in this world of uncertainties without a vision is to imperil one's destiny and jeopardise the future ahead. No one can make any change happen in life without having vision of that change first. Great changes are product of great visions and small changes are product of small visions. Determine the change you want and your vision will automatically be shaped along the path of the change.
If you have neglected your visions and you are roaming about the street aimlessly not pursuing any dream, there is no way the change can be possible through you. God has given you the ability to visualise the future that you want for yourself. No matter how close you are to God, that will not make Him to take your responsibility from you and He won't give His own to you.
To be the person you want to be in life, you have the major role to play. It is very mandatory for any man who wants to be a change agent to be ready to dream and have great vision embedded in burning desire. Once a man is not able to visualise a successful and great future for himself, he is bound to spend his life in the cycle of mediocrity.
Through the years, history has recorded the secrets of great change agents of different times in the history of the world. These were men and women who changed the world for better in their time and who the world stood still for. History fully recorded it that one of the secrets of these great people was their ability to visualise the change they brought into the world even before they started to take steps towards it. Virtually all of them shared the ability to envisage great things before they were even experienced.
They were people who never stopped dreaming even when all
