Dirty Sheets - Midnite Love

Chapter 1

Get on the ground now! If you move I’ll blow your fucking brains out! The young thug yelled as he slammed Cassidy to the pavement.

Please don’t do this! It’s not mine, she sobbed, begging for her life. The gun man had the loaded steel barrel trained on the back of her head.

Bitch, this is the last time I’m telling you, come up out the coat!

Man just blast that hoe and let’s get out of here! Another thug yelled.

Here, just take it, please don’t kill me! Cassidy wailed as she nervously removed the full length sable coat.

Run all that jewelry too! The gunman yelled, motioning towards her diamond necklace.

Cassidy quickly removed the $10,000 dollar piece from around her neck then slid the five carat solitaire from off her ring finger and handed it over.

Where the loot at? The gunman yelled as he emptied the contents from her Louis Vuitton bag.

I told you, I don’t have any money, she replied.

Man come on let’s go! One of the thugs yelled.

Hold on! I think this bitch holding out! The gunman snapped after noticing that there were no credit cards or cash in the purse. You got some loot on you?" he asked, snatching at her bra.

No! I swear I’ve given you everything, she sobbed.

Man let’s go! You know rich folks don’t carry no damn loot! The second thug yelled.

Yeah, I guess you right, he replied, not seeming convinced. Lay your ass down and kiss the fucking ground! Don’t move until we’re gone.

Cassidy turned over onto the cold sidewalk and lay there weeping and waiting until her assailants were finally out of range. She then sat up and called her best friend Nona to pick her up.

What the hell? Girl, I’m on the way, stay put! Nona replied when she received the call.

Just pathetic, I knew something like this was going to happen to her dumb ass, Nona thought as she hung up the phone and loaded the address to where Cassidy was into her GPS.

Cassidy Dotson was a twenty-six year old Chicago native. She was the youngest child of six, raised by her middle aged mother who had her at the age of forty-two. Due to complications from high blood pressure and gestational diabetes she was unable to work. Her father died when she was only four years old. Cassidy worked from the age of fifteen to help her mother out as much as she could. At nineteen she followed her boyfriend of three years to Atlanta in search of a better life. Omari was a twenty-one year old aspiring actor and director whose family had ties to the industry.

Once their relationship didn’t work out Cassidy began dancing at the age twenty to help pay her way through college. Once she realized how much money could be made from working as a stripper she put school on hold. She was now earning a salary that most girl’s her age only dreamt of.

By the time she was twenty four years old she met a girl by the name of Sienna at one of the clubs. Sienna was a dancer/model for men’s booty magazines. She would go on to put Cassidy up on game and let her know where the real money was, private dancing for ballers. She could make a cool grand just for dancing around in a bikini for a few hours. She would also introduce her to her current gig, ripping off rich folks.

Cassidy was a stripper at night and a scam artist by day. The gigs consisted of becoming a maid for a wealthy couple. Once she was in long enough to earn their trust the tricks would begin. The lady of the house was already sized up prior to her taking the positon.

The women she worked for easily had over five hundred pairs of shoes and  endless amounts of expensive clothing that sat in their closet begging to be worn, as well as countless jewels and furs that only got pulled out on special occasions. This made it easy for her to slide items in and out without being detected. For the most part she would steal items that she knew they wouldn’t readily notice, a five thousand dollar dress here, and a two thousand dollar blouse there. The fact that they had such excess made it easy to slip something out without them being none the wiser.

The more obvious expensive items that drew more attention she borrowed and put back. There were a few occasions where she’d almost gotten caught due to the fact that the lady of the house wanted to wear a certain item and couldn’t place her hands on it. When they would mention looking for the item, she would simply return it to its original spot.

True enough, she made enough money to cover the cost of some of the lavish items that she coveted. However, her scam allowed her to wear some things that she would have never be able to afford, such as full length furs and Harry Winston jewels. On many occasions she stepped out in over a million dollars in diamonds just to run errands.

When Cassidy saw Nona pull up she couldn’t have been happier.

Are you ok? What the hell are you doing on this side of town? Nona asked as she let Cassidy in the Ford Escape.

Yeah I’m cool but they took everything. I don’t know how I’m going to explain this shit, she sobbed, as she tried to pull herself together.

The explaining she was speaking of, was to the wealthy couple she worked for, the Arlingtons. Cassidy still worked as a stripper by night. And a maid for one of the richest couples in Atlanta, Georgia by day. She routinely got over on them by not only stealing whatever she could get her hands on; she could often be seen wearing the wife’s clothes and jewels as her own. She’d been running this scam for two years now and up until this point she had never been caught. Once she was done stealing and playing dress up she would quit. True enough, there had been a few occasions where she felt like her employers were becoming suspicious of her. But by the time they even thought to investigate she was already in the wind. However, tonight was by far the worst
