      Prologue

      The Story From Beyond Time

      Fifteen Centuries had passed since the great prophet walked the lands, and people passed through good and bad times, but never lost hope of a better day. Times always depended on the skies and stars, and these things guided the men and women of Khandar, on the eastern edge of the continent. For four of these centuries, something strange began to happen, and a new creature emerged from the depths of the Hasnu Mountains. The mountains were a place where many caves and dark mysteries lay sleeping since before time was recorded by man. Everyone remembers those times as the times before time and no one knows what was then and remained until today because people were more concerned about their daily lives and how to survive the wretched days.

      They had a word in their folklore, Dracu, referring to everything that was bad and stood hidden in the darkness; everything they did not know or could not entirely understand. Everybody stood away from the unknown, tried to avoid it as much as possible and mind their business, no matter how meager it might have been or how great their curiosity was… the fear was too great!

      And even when it came by, nobody knew what it was or where it came from. They saw it and feared it, and even if it had many forms and shapes, the shape of a beautiful man was the predominant figure they would see. He was superior, but ruthless, and he would kill anyone who stood against him or said the wrong word. This creature was shrouded in mystery. He would not talk to people; just wander through their houses watching closely and carefully their whereabouts. The strangest thing was, from time to time, young beautiful girls would disappear into thin air, and nobody could tell where they went or what took them.  Everything else was just suspicions and silent words told behind closed door… whispers of fear.

      Hence, nobody could stand against the Dracu and had no idea what he was really capable of. People would hide their daughters at nightfall, hoping the curse did not fall on them, too. Turning their eyes towards the Gods was all they could do, but the Gods seemed to have turned a blind eye towards them because this demon could do anything he pleased and no one seemed able to stop him.

      Years passed by, and Dracula managed to kill all those who dared to oppose him. Soon, after a few decades, he became ruler of the land, with the help of his vampire army. In the beginning, kings tried to conquer the land, but were always defeated in some strange and curious way. People knew that war meant a blood bath, but Dracula turned everything into carnage, and those who managed to escape told stories of blood thirsty, hideous creatures, which swept the land, fighting like a hundred lions in one fist, and even the greatest army could not withstand a hundred of those vampire warriors who seemed to have no fear of steel or death. They seemed to have beaten death and now came back from the dead to have some fun; no life could be spotted in their eyes, only an endless darkness that would have rendered a person silent,
