You will spend much of the book wondering who among the rogues is secretly Kron Darkbow." -- Brent Nichols, author of LORD OF FIRE "Johnston does an outstanding job of juggling a fairly large cast of characters for such a short book, imbuing each of them with their own personality and characteristics." -- Keith West, Adventures Fantastic "Ty introduces us into a world plagued with tension, murder, revenge, and bribery, and does a fantastic job emphasizing how fast the darkness could fall." -- Jessee Dedman, editor of DEADMAN'S TOME

Kron Darkbow and companions have survived the mean streets of the city of Bond and the dangers of the Prison Lands, but now they dare to journey into Kobalos, a dark northern land ruled by King Verkain, a powerful mage rumored to be immortal and mad. Always on their trail is underworld crime boss Belgad the Liar and his crew of deadly killers. Not only does Belgad seek vengeance against Kron, but he also wants to capture Kron's friend, the healer Randall Tendbones, the last of Verkain's children whom the king wants dead. For Randall's slaying would fulfill one more step in an ancient prophecy predicting the rise of the Dark King of the North, and Verkain believes he is this figure, ready to bring death and destruction across all lands, to rule with a hammering fist of iron. It is in Kobalos, in the darkest of hours, alone with enemies all around, Darkbow becomes the last hope for all. But to defeat his foes, first he must learn to defeat his own rage. ---------------------------- OTHER BOOKS IN THE TRILOGY: City of Rogues: Book I of The Kobalos Trilogy Road To Wrath: Book II of The Kobalos Trilogy Blade and Flame: Prequel to The Kobalos Trilogy (short story) The Kobalos Trilogy OMNIBUS edition, collects all 3 original novels of trilogy

Kron Darkbow has fled the city of Bond, along with healer mage Randall Tendbones and professional duelist Adara Corvus. Everywhere they turn are enemies. With a price on their heads, old foes on their trail, and dangers waiting for them along the road and in every village, it seems nowhere is safe. Even the goal of their travels offers no peace, for the group rides to the land of Kobalos where Randall must face that nation’s Lord Verkain, the alleged Dark King of the North. But before Kron, Randall and Adara can make their way to Kobalos, there are demons to avoid, monsters to slay, assassins to defeat, and the country of East Ursia to pass, a land where Adara is wanted and wizards such as Randall are put to death. Then there are the Prisonlands, Kron’s old stomping grounds, where the prisoners are now armed and free, and are taking their vengeance on all who cross their path. As always, the writing style of this author makes each of his books a joy to read." -- Lauralynn Elliott, author of THE GNOME "My reaction to this book was similar to my reaction to City of Rogues. The story is irresistible. It drew me in completely. There was no question that I would keep reading ..." -- Brent Nichols, author of LORD OF FIRE "Johnston is also known as a horror writer, and his talents there serve him well in some of the darker aspects of the story. The last third of the second book in particular, is quite chilling ..." -- Jesse Flohrs, Fantasy Faction
- Ghosts of the Asylum (Book I of The Horrors of Bond Trilogy)
4
Riots rage on the streets of Bond. Behind the scenes, a core of guild masters grasp at gaining power, deciding that slaying Kron Darkbow would give them more recognition on the streets. But Kron has something to say about that, as do the ghosts inhabiting his new property, the Asylum, where a hundred men, the mad and their guards, were slain during a magical mishap a year earlier. A year has passed since Kron Darkbow survived the clutches of Belgad the Liar and the evil Lord Verkain. Returned to the city of Bond, now Kron attempts to find his place in the world. He begins by rebuilding his new home in the Asylum, a place haunted by the memories of those slain there. But riots in the streets intrude, and power struggles within the city’s guilds draw Kron into a web of deceit. Kerjim, the master of the Docks Guild, has high plans, and the slaying of Kron Darkbow is imminent among them. Facing fighting in the streets and late-night assassination attempts, Kron soon learns these are the least of his concerns. Because more than just memories are lingering within the Asylum.
- Demon Chains (Book II of The Horrors of Bond Trilogy)
5
A murderer stalks the streets of the city of Bond. The killer leaves behind tortured and twisted bodies that have been sliced and ripped apart, often after the most horrible of violations. No one is immune to this stalker's depredations, including children. Especially children. Kron Darkbow is a man not unfamiliar with violence and darkness. He operates in shadows and lives in a haunted asylum. Despite his past, he is also a man who seeks justice for those deserving and to protect those not able to shield themselves. It falls upon Kron to hunt down this killer stalking the streets, but he soon realizes there is more than one culprit involved in these horrible crimes. A dark mage and his demon partner are at fault, and with each death they grow more and more powerful. Kron only hopes he can put a stop to their acts before more innocents suffer an awful fate. But first Kron has to discover why the mage and his demon have brought their evil to the city. Demon Chains continues the epic fantasy adventures of Kron Darkbow, first introduced in City of Rogues: Book I of the Kobalos Trilogy.
