About this series

The quest that began with the Song of the Circle has gathered momentum in many lands as Tu Ahu have been raised to join the Creation Light of the Cosmos to planet Earth. Now the journey around the rim of the circle moves towards the end.
Crossing the great deserts of Egypt the valiant seekers of the good and true sail through the Mediterranean Sea and to Ireland. Here they gather power from the Roth of Tara, the wondrous standing stone that holds the wisdom of the ages. And they reawaken the magic of the sacred springs of that land and in the strength of stone and star and life-giving waters launch their great ship to cross the vastness of the Atlantic to complete the great circle that began so long ago.
In South America, in the waters of Lake Titicaca and on the Fields of Cuzco they come at last to the final confrontation with the Black Robes. Is the Sacred Wind, born of the turning of the stars, strong enough to overcome the anger and anguish of the darkness? Is love the greatest force in the Cosmos, the healing that is of the One?
The journey is the destination. There is no beginning and no end, just the journey.

Song of the Circle being the first book of the Chronicles of the Stone. Utini, born beneath a unique gathering of stars, is destined to travel ancient trails with Hera, a young woman of courage and wisdom, at his side. Eroa, the master carver of stone, is also of their journey for he can do no other. Together they carry a sacred carving into the world. Peace calls them forth to challenge the darkness embodied in the warriors of the Black Robe. To protect the sacred they are driven to penetrate the treacherous Halls of Stone, ride the Dark River beneath the mountains and voyage across the Great Ocean. Here power, harnessed to destroy, is met by strength founded in compassion and minds that look beyond violence to the timeless realms of spirit and wisdom embodied in universal truth. Thus armed with knowledge founded in archetypes etched into memory and courage born of commitment to the higher good, they strive to meet the challenge of the darkness. Their journey is one of discovery for as they create Tu Ahu — small stone altars in special sites — they join the land to the stars and awaken powerful cosmic lore. Yet, all the time they carry ancient wisdom that declares ‘the darkness and the light are one.’ The path that opens carries us into primal truths that touch our lives today. The elders say, ‘we are of the Circle and the Circle is of us. All is one.’

Utini, Hera and Eroa gather about them those cloaked in compassion to challenge the waves and reach the distant islands of Aotearoa. Here they penetrate deep within the mountains to reach sacred waters that open the way for the healing of the women of the planet. They travel the ancient trails the Ancestors walked to enter the many realms of spirit. Their courage is challenged again and again by those who fear the birth of children who forsake the power of the blade of death. They invoke the power of the waters and join the earth to the stars in remarkable ways that the old wisdom keepers understood. Sacred lore held secret for too long walks here. Hurts buried deep are revealed and mended by the power of new paradigms. And again and again they build more Tu Ahu to join Earth with the Stars. The Circle opened this path to the way of the whales. And whale song reaches across the waters to open other trails. Compassion stands tall despite the shadows that gather as the darkness reaches out to destroy. And the lore says, ‘We are of the whales and the whales are of us. All is one.’

Now the East calls the heroes (Eroa, Aria, Utini, Hera and their companions) deeper into the travail of the age. Ancient migration trails call and open the way to China where their mission is misunderstood. They must convince those in power to help them on their way. Tu Ahu must be raised to harness cosmic energy to hold the dark powers at bay. Then the Silk Road calls and they cross vast deserts within lands lifted high. And Tibet calls in its own special way. Mystery surrounds the journeys that unfold and danger looms larger each day. Amidst towering mountains, mighty river valleys and sweeping sands, the challenge of the trails is met. Here they rediscover the power of the ‘Silence’, a unique force born of old tides that serves them well. Although they gather about them leaders of great standing, a labyrinth of obstacles blocks their way. The Black Robe forces gather greater and greater strength until the quest seems doomed to fail. Are they of the Silence and is the Silence of them? Is all truly one?

    Song of the Eagle

The cry of the eagle, its soaring flight and the vision it brings to its realm marks this time. Drawn by the unseen, by words spoken mind to mind, the heroes of the quest (Eroa, Aria, Utini, Hera and their companions) launch their great, double-hulled canoe on the long tides. Leaving Aotearoa they track a distant cry for help to Kauai in Hawaii. Here new champions gather to the cause, for this is the land of the fabulous Menehune who worked stone in magical ways that leave their mark today. Once again they gather stone to create Tu Ahu that bring the energy of the stars to the aid of Earth. All hangs in the balance. A vast Black Robe fleet gathers to destroy those who strive to hold the gathering darkness in check. That danger is faced and overcome in a unique way. Now the heroes break through to join with the Haida and Inuit of the NW Pacific. Old lore revealed in carvings crafted in stone brings new hope to those who carry the flame that is true. Here we soar with the eagles, walk with the totem animals of the First Nations and enter the icy Arctic world of Night Without End. And the task is not yet done for the Black Robes still deal in death. And the wisdom says, ‘we are of the eagle and the eagle is of us. All is one.’ At the core of this journey is a dilemma that has consumed the minds of philosophers since the oldest of times — the clash of the darkness and the light. Reducing that issue to its impact on our lives we walk with those who find the courage to walk the ways of peace amidst turbulent tides of war. They carry no weapons and deal not in death. Their power stems from compassion and the sacred ways of the Ancients. Their wisdom is founded in the magic of the mystery of cosmic lore.
