A How To Guide To Financial Freedom:
Author

E Cuellar

E. Cuellar has spent the last ten years studying financial literacy and self-improvement. She started out sleeping on the floor of an apartment that she could barely afford (because she didn’t have a bed), believing she would never be able to move into a nicer apartment, let alone own her own home one day. Out of desperation, she went to the local library and checked out Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki with Sharon L. Lechter. She began reading and listening to everything she could about personal finances, investment and self-improvement. After following the advice that she received from these books, she was able to buy a home and has invested in several asset classes; including stocks, small businesses, commodities and real estate. She is continuing on her path to financial freedom, and has a desire to help educate others who are going through difficult situations so that they can learn the information they need to change their lives. E. Cuellar continues to study and learn everything that she can, and desires to share the knowledge that she has gained with others.

    Day 1

Step 1: Commit to making a change. For the next 90 days, you will do at least one thing a day that will move you from where you are right now toward financial freedom. I would recommend putting it in writing and/or telling someone your goal (someone who will be supportive, not someone who will criticize you and tell you that you can’t do it). Here’s an example of what you could write:

I, _____________, commit to follow the steps in this 90-day program to become financially literate and financially free. I will take the time and make the effort necessary every single day to complete all of the steps listed in this program. I will finish this program in three months, on ___________ (date).

Step 2: Get a blank notebook.

Step 3: Write down everything you spend money on today. To get started I just want you to see where your money is going, so write it in the notebook. I recommend getting receipts for everything so you don’t forget to write anything down. An example would be:

    Gas $27.4

    Wal-Mart: $103.67

You may or may not want to divide one purchase, like the above Wal-Mart example, into several categories like:

    Food $79.14

    Cosmetics $5.08

    Pet $4.39

    Gifts $10.70

    Cleaning supplies $4.36

The point is to just write down whatever you spend money on today in your notebook in the EASIEST format for YOU. If you don’t spend money today, just find yourself a notebook and have it ready for when you do.

Step 4: Listen to The Strangest Secret by Earl Nightingale from 1956. You can find it on youtube.com or you can click on the link in the Summary for Day 1. It’s about thirty minutes long.

    Congratulations on beginning this program!

    Day 1 Summary:

Make a conscious commitment to complete this program in 90 days.

Tell someone or write down your commitment.

    Get a notebook.

Record any expenses you have for the day.

Listen to The Strangest Secret by Earl Nightingale

    Day 2

Welcome back to day two. Hopefully you have completed all of the steps for day one, if not go back and do them now. If you are ready to continue, let’s keep moving forward and look at the steps for day two.

Step 1: Write down any expenses for today and add new categories as necessary in your notebook. You will record everything you spend money on in these first 30 days on this first page. For example, when you get gas again, just add it to where you wrote down gas before.

    Gas $27.4 + 31.22

If you spend money on groceries, you might add below:

    Gas $27.4 + 31.22

    Food $83.59

Step 2: Borrow or buy a copy of the book or audio book Rich Dad, Poor Dad: What the Rich Teach Their Kids about Money- That the Poor and Middle Class Do Not! by Robert T. Kiyosaki with Sharon L. Lechter, C.P.A. or you can download it using an e-reader. You don’t necessarily have to buy a copy. I highly recommend taking advantage of your local public library, where you can get books, audio books or e-books. Some libraries also have e-book readers that you can check out. The following is a link to a video that shows you how to check out books online using Over Drive, which is available for free through many libraries HYPERLINK https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mgKbyhuqxuUwww.youtube.com/watch?v=mgKbyhuqxuU.

You are going to want to have Rich Dad, Poor Dad: What the Rich Teach Their Kids about Money- That the Poor and Middle Class Do Not! to start reading no later than day 8. Obviously the sooner you can get it the sooner you can start reading it, and it will cut down on the amount you will have to read each day later on. If you can’t get it until
