About this ebook

The book that's causing a stir among skeptics!

A scientific look at what ghosts are, plus the latest technology used to obtain evidence.

The first section of this bestselling paperback looks at twenty haunted locations in the UK, focussing on the Cotswolds and surrounding areas of England. Evidence has been obtained by interviewing eyewitnesses and visiting each scene. It contains more than forty images including HD photographs of sites where unexplained supernatural events occur, some not known to the public until now. The author's favourite tale is the account of the ghostly apparition of "The lady of the lake" in Frampton on Severn, Gloucestershire.

This book has already made skeptics question their own beliefs about the paranormal and gives most readers goosebumps.

˃˃˃ Section 2 "What are ghosts?"

Opinions from paranormal investigators, scientists, even quantum physicists about the realities existing around you right now. It explores the high probability of other dimensions existing around us, other beings, parallel universes, even residual energy left by past generations in the buildings and streets that we walk around today.

˃˃˃ Section 3 "Technology"

A look at the latest technology used to obtain proof of the paranormal. Including methods of using the equipment and examples from renowned paranormal investigators, some of which invented the ICT research devices that are on the market today being used by ghost hunting teams worldwide.

This book aims to present you with today's evidence of paranormal encounters, leaving you to decide what the truth is about the supernatural.

˃˃˃ Testimonials

"I love this book! It's a really good read, with some very scary stuff. It actually had me sleeping with the light on after reading it." (P. Hopkins: Ghost Hunting TV).

"I don't normally believe in the spirits of dead people walking around, but I do believe the things in this book. There are unexplainable things happening around us. I like the way this book looks at a few theories on what ghosts might be." (A. Harnden: Skeptic)

"I really enjoyed the bits about shadow beings and demons, definitely not for the faint hearted." (S. Walsh: Paranormal Investigator).

Reader discretion is advised as this book may cause fear.

Modern Day Ghosts Of England - Matthew Kenton

    Foreword

Many of the famous, local ghost stories have been deliberately not mentioned, due to noticing the regular reciprocation of the same old same old, which inspired the writing of this book.

A collection of real stories told to me by eyewitnesses that I believe and trust. Based purely on gut feeling and investigation experience.

I don’t know what the people in this book encountered or experienced, but I do believe, undoubtedly, that they encountered it.

    Modern Day Ghosts Of England

    Frampton on Severn, Gloucestershire.

The children of a wealthy local businessman were at home with their eldest brother in the late 1960’s, their parents were out for the night. They were all in the same bedroom because the house was large, old and no one liked being alone in it.

Late that night, there was a sudden loud bang, like the front door slamming shut, followed by loud footsteps pacing up the stairs and along the hall toward their bedroom.

To their surprise, a tall man burst into their room and shouted, Who are you? Get out of my house!

The children were all too scared to answer thinking the man was an intruder. He stood there in silence for a few moments, looking annoyed. The children also stayed silent. He then walked out leaving the door open and went back downstairs.

The eldest brother followed him cautiously, trying to stay out of sight. When he checked the downstairs the man was nowhere to be found, even though they didn’t hear him leave. They checked the whole house only to find all the doors and windows were still locked.

When their parents arrived home they were more than concerned, the police were called but no evidence of breaking and entering was found.

The children each described the man separately. They all said he was a tall, bearded man, with short dark hair and grey patches. Also, that he had a local accent.

The parents revealed that they had heard someone pacing along the hallway downstairs on a number of occasions. They were even more alarmed to find all the doors locked and no one in the house. It was thought best not to tell the children, even though the whole family don’t believe in ghosts.

The local policeman who was called about the incident revealed that a man had lived at the house previously who matched the description of being very tall and slim with a local accent, but added that it couldn’t be him because he died years ago in a motorbike crash along the very road leading to the property.

The parents did some research on the man. revealing that he was a geologist, who had also studied the ancient Egyptian theories on land energies and their manipulation.

He’d discovered that his house had been built on a ley line and that it ran right beneath the main hallway parallel with the whole length of it.

Ley lines are very common in the Cotswolds, but some claim the energy from them can affect people or the environments above the lines. The geologist apparently believed the ley line would have a negative effect on his home. He tried an ancient Egyptian technique of reversing the energy back down from the house by burying a large length of copper rod and other metals all the way down the hall. He believed this shielded the property to protect it.

The children who witnessed the mans appearance still do not believe in ghosts, but agree that there is no explanation as to how he could’ve got in the house, why he matched the description perfectly of the previous owner and why he was telling them to get out of his home. They agree there is something strange occurring in the house, but believe it could be something that science does not understand yet, a force that cannot be measured or tested with our current technologies.

Since writing this book, further research around the Frampton on Severn area has revealed that there have been recent sightings of a tall man along the same road, always spotted at a similar time of night.

The witnesses explained that as they drove past they realised that the man was no longer there and thought their eyes had deceived them.

All of the sightings transpire at the same place by the entrance to the local manor house, on a road called The Perryway, or the B4071. They weren’t even aware of the incident at the house, and the fact that a man matching the description had died in a motorcycle crash at the very spot where all the sightings occur.

They and myself are even more intrigued now, to learn that people who have never spoken to one another, all have the same description of the man the children saw, who appears looking as real as you or I, then vanishes.

One of these houses is the one the man was sighted in.

The road where he died runs parallel between the houses, just where the white car is, in this picture.

The Tudor Arms Slimbridge (a.k.a. The Patch)

Late one Friday night, admittedly after having a couple of drinks, but only a couple, a man was walking up the stairs to the gents
